I sat behind my desk filling out papers when Jocelyn came in.
Me: What's up?
Jocelyn: There's been a accident.
Me: Oh Lord. What'd you do now?
Jocelyn: Haha. Very funny. I didn't do anything but um, its Kemani.
I looked up at her.
Me: What happened? Is she okay?
Jocelyn: Last thing I heard was she's in the hospital. Mercy General.
Me: Okay. Can you finish filling these papers out?
Jocelyn: Yeah I got you.
Me: Thanks.
I grabbed my jacket, phone and keys then I got in my car. I started the engine and sped off towards the hospital.
Kemani and I might be broken up or having our differences right now but Im still gone care for her. No matter what we're going through, no matter if she is a gold digger.
I parked and got out. I locked my doors and quickly walked into the hospital. I went up to the window and sat in the chair.
Me: I was told Kemani Jacob's was in this hospital. How is she? Can she have visitors? Is she alive?
Just the thought of her being possibly dead had me tearing up.
Man: What's your relationship with the patient.
Me: She's my girlfriend.
He nodded and typed in the computer.
Man: She can have visitors. I will page her nurse to come in and give information for you. She's in room 236 C.
He wrote on a pink paper and handed it to me.
Man: Put this on.
I did as said.
Me: Thanks.
Man: No problem.
After finding her room I went in the room and saw her hooked up to a ventilator. I let a tear fall as I went to the side of her bed. I grabbed her hand in mine and kissed the back of it.
Me: Im sorry. Im so sorry baby.
I squeezed her hand and laid my forehead against it.
I dont know how long I was doing that but before I knew it the nurse was in here.
Nurse: Hello, I am Maggie and I'm Ms. Jacob's nurse.
Me: How is she?
Nurse Maggie: Well she was found in a flipped over car that was flipped over and on fire. Luckily the firefighters put it out before it killed her but her right leg is severly burned. Her left leg was pinned so we might have to amputate it since the blood had stopped flowing through her leg at the time. She has a concussion and its a very huge chance that she could have short term or long term memory loss. It could go as far as 4 months ago to her entire life. She's in a coma and its a possibility that she may not wake up for months or years.
