beautiful, isn't it?//
The lady in red softly cleared her throat before she began speaking into the microphone."Hello everyone! Welcome to tonight's Ring Ceremony! Before we get started, Mr. Kraft wanted me to introduce myself. My name is Ellis Holliday and I am now in charge of team and player operations. I will be scheduling you guys for events and if you ever need anything, my info is listed in the program! Anyways, I hope you all have a great time tonight and I hope to get to know you all soon!" The lady in red carefully placed the microphone back on the stand before Mr. Kraft picked it up again.
"Thank you Ms. Holliday for that introduction. I know you all will enjoy working with her as much as I have thus far." Mr. Kraft paused to allow for his audience to applaud his new employee. "Now, let us begin the ring ceremony. The boxes which contain the rings are being distributed about to each of you. Do not open the boxes until I give the okay. We won these rings as a team, and we will view them as a team."
Workers were shuffling around the room, distributing the perfectly wrapped ring boxes but Tom was searching for the lady in red. Never had he been so infatuated and intrigued with a woman he had never spoken to before. Tom's eyes flitted to the program sitting in front of his wife, he slowly inched his hand towards it, trying not to make it obvious that he was searching for the lady in red.
Tom smiled when he saw her name. He thought even her name was gorgeous. Ellis Holiday. It was printed so neatly and precisely just above her email and phone number. The quarterback was lost in a stare with the ivory colored program with the perfect name printed on it, making sure that it didn't go anywhere. He felt a nudge at his side prompting him back to reality.
He shook himself out of his stare and examined his surroundings. "Tom, aren't you going to open your ring?" Gisele asked with her Brazilian accent shining through. She had her camera ready to take a picture of her husbands reaction to his fifth Super Bowl ring. She had been waiting patiently as all of the other players were running around the room and getting pictures with fellow teammates, celebrating their new pieces of hardware. Gisele looked to Tom with pleading blue eyes before she was interrupted.
"He doesn't need to see it. He has enough of them," Julian Edelman approached the table, flaunting his new piece of jewelry. He wrapped his arm around his quarterback, silently thanking him for all of the work he has done for the team last season.
"Yeah, sorry. I was just taking it all in. It's finally hitting me that this is my fifth one... kind of a big deal," Tom lied. He looked down at the box in front of him. His name was engraved onto the dark wooden box along with his familiar number 12. He slowly opened the box, relishing in his lie. Once the cover was fully lifted, he got his first glimpse at the ring. It was glimmering and larger than any of his other ones. He grasped the cold piece of silver and slid it onto his finger. "Wow," the quarterback mustered out as the ring shone in the lights.
Cameras surrounded Tom from practically every angle, and he tried his best to emulate the reaction the crowd would want to see from their leader. But, the only thing Tom could think about was somewhere about this estate.
Tom stood up from his chair and shook Julian's hand, who ultimately pulled him into half of a hug. "Wouldn't be here without you, Jules. None of this would have been possible without your dedication to me and this team." Tom said to his trusty receiver.
"Thanks man, but you know that we wouldn't have any rings if it weren't for you. You are this team. You made this dynasty." Tom pulled out of Julian's half hug and looked at him and smiled. "Now if you will excuse me, I have to go find that honey in the red," Julian ran off in search of the girl that had been running through Tom's mind all night.
Before anyone realized what was happening, the party began and rappers were flooding the stage ad players found their way to the dance floor. "Do you want to dance?" Gisele asked her husband.
"I'm going to use the bathroom and get some air," Tom promptly stood from the table and excused himself from the humid tent. After escorting himself to one of the numerous bathrooms in Mr. Kraft's mansion, he wandered onto a balcony that overlooked the rest of the party. Lights were shining everywhere and the music sent vibrations that shook the house. Tom could hear his teammates singing as he leaned over the brick balcony. He especially heard Rob Gronkowski, belting out the verses to the rap song that was currently being played.
"Beautiful isn't it?" Heels clicked softly onto the stone floor behind the quarterback.
