I spring up out of bed, a cold sweat dripping down my body. I could feel my eyes dialate as my eyes adjust to the early morning sun. I flopped back down onto my lumpy pillow and rolled over. The clock told me it was ony four in the morning. I grumbled and slipped out of bed. This is a great way to start my day. I look into the mirror and glared at the black rats nest sitting on my head. "This is your lucky day, Lillith, your eighteenth birthday and you wake up from nightmares and you have a birds nest on your head." I manage to find my way my way to the bathroom without harming myself. Jumping under the hot water I detangle myself and think about the dreams I've been having. It's the same one every night except it seems to move father along. I'm always running. It's dark and I can't see where I'm going. I look around me seeing a man chasing after me, and only tonight did he reach me. He grabbed me and pulled me down, his eyes blazing red. His voice still gives me chills, the deep vibrations coming out his mouth. "I've got you." I shuddered and stepped out of the shower, wrapping a towel around me. I stumble into my closet and throw on the first thing that doesn't smell like B.O. I grab myphone from the bedstand and look at the screen. It's only five thirty. I groan and read my texts. My brother, Levi (short for Leviathan), sent me one this morning. Hey sis, when you get this come downstairs. We have a suprise for you. I looked at the message and read it again. "What the hell?" from what I knew he was oversees. I ran downstairs and was tackled by my brother. "Lilith! How old are you know, thirteen?" I laughed and hugged him back, "No eighteen. How long have you been brainwashed?" He grunted and pushed me away. "Okay come on now, it's a happy day!" She wrapped her arms around our shoulders and pulled us into the kitchen, where a cake sat awaiting. "Mom, you didn't have to do this." I mentaly groaned. I really don't need cake of all things. "It was the least I could do for you." I smiled at her and sta down, mentally taking a note to try and only eat a tiny bit. " Are we going to sing Happy Birthday all day or are we going to have to carry you out of the house for your party." I stiffen up because public outings are so not my thing. "Go ahead," I grunt with a strained voice. They sing through (my brother telling me I stink though) and i lean to blow out my candles. I wish to meet my father. A man i've never met. I blow out my candle, my brothers hand on my arm. We both fall into a dark abyss, soon to figure out who our father is.
