Hey sorry I took so long to update again, my mom took away my phone and computer. ugh. Well anyways, sorry this chapter is so short, I just wanted to get something up ASAP. Hope you enjoy!
Lizzy sat at her desk in school. She was in 5th grade now, 10 years old. She didn't want to be there, it was so boring. Her teacher was droning on about western explorers. She was supposed to be taking notes, but when she looked down at her paper, there were only a few bullet points. The rest was filled with drawings and doodles of skating related things. Today I'll land my double flip. she thought. Maybe I'll get better at illusions. She sighed. Why can't I be skating right now? Her feet itched to have her skates on, and feel the ice under her feet. She closed her eyes, daydreaming about landing her double axel, triples, going to the Olympics. She could hear the announcer calling her name, see herself standing up at the top of the podium. Her mind wandered, thinking about Disney On Ice, which she was going to see this weekend, about her coach, and about her friends. She had been invited to one of her friend's birthday parties, but it conflicted with skating. She knew each practice she skipped out on would bring her farther away from where she wanted to be, but she also wanted to go to the party. Her mom said it was her choice. The one time she actually wanted her mom to tell her what to do she didn't. Great. She scrunched up her nose in fustration and sighed.
"Lizzy?"
Lizzy snapped back to reality, almost jumping out of her chair in surprise when her teacher called her name. "Uh... What?"
Her teacher repeated the question she had apparently asked Lizzy, "Who helped Lewis and Clark on their expedition?"
"Um..." I don't know, Lizzy thought. She glanced down at her notes and took a shot. "Sacagawea?"
"Yep! She translated Native American languages for them and..."
Lizzy sighed. I hate school. She looked at the clock. 20 more minutes.
The bell rang, and she started walking home with her friends. They all lived in the same neighborhood, one of them, Lauren, on the same street.
"Are you going to my birthday party?" Alexis asked
"I don't know, I need to talk with my mom. I have skating Saturday morning so I don't know if I'd be able to sleep over."
Alexis rolled her eyes, "You always skate. You can skip just one practice."
"It's not 'just one practice.' I'm already not going on Friday so I can go to the first part of your party."
Alexis just gave her a looked and said,"I only turn 11 once. You can skate every day."
Lizzy reached her house and thought, Way to play the guilt card. "Bye"
"Bye," her friends replied back to her.
So I was just wondering, where would you like Lizzy to end up? At the Olympics? Or is that too overused? Maybe Disney On Ice? Something else? The end of the story isn't close, I just want to know where I'm going with this haha. Please tell me your thoughts! I love hearing from you!
