Meghan’s POV
“Wait I have something to tell you first” I said completely ignoring her. “It’s extremely important” I added. I didn’t know what Cat was going to say that was somehow important but that was going to have to wait. I suddenly felt nauseous, like I was about to throw up. Whenever I was nervous or anxious I would get these butterflies in my stomach which made me feel really ill.

I took a deep breath. I was having second thoughts about telling Cat when it slipped out. “I like Joey” I said really fast and under my breath. Cat just stared at me, her expressions were blank. I knew she wouldn’t say anything so I had to. “I know it’s stupid since you know were best friends and everything but I really like him Cat, what do I do?” I asked her hoping she would reply. She just sat here and said nothing. Suddenly she got up and headed for the door. “Cat? What, why, where are you going?” I asked confused. She turned around and a tear fell down her cheek. She wiped it away then slowly and quietly whispered “I have to go, please just leave me alone” and she walked out. I didn’t understand, did I do something wrong? I thought about it for a while then it finally came to me. How could I have been so stupid? We were stuck in a love triangle. Cat liked Joey didn’t she? Or maybe she didn’t, I hope this wasn’t true. I couldn’t bear to lose my two best friends especially when there the only people I had in my life right now. I pulled out my phone and tried to phone Cat.
“I’m sorry, the person you’re trying to contact is unavailable at this moment in time. Please leave a message after the beep… beeeeeeeeeep”.
“Hey Cat its Meghan. Please come over we really need to talk or even just text me but we really need to have a chat, you know, about this”. I said then hung up. I was praying that I was just overthinking and that Cat didn’t really like Joey. It didn’t even occur to me that this could be the reason why she ran off. I sat there, on the couch sitting by my phone waiting for a reply. I must have waited for a long time as I fell asleep.
Cat’s POV
When Meghan told me she liked Joey a little bit of me crumbled inside. I was just about to tell her I liked him but there was no point. I got scared. Meghan is 10 times prettier than me and has so much more things in common with Joey than I do. I couldn’t let her be with Joey. I jumped off the couch and headed for the door quickly. As I reached the door I felt a small tear roll down my cheek. “Cat? What, why, where are you going?” Meghan asked confused. I couldn’t tell her I mean I could of but I didn’t want to upset her even though she upset me. Meghan was still my best friend but I knew I had to try everything to get Joey to like me and not her. I turned around and wiped the tear away from my cheek. I took a deep breath then whispered “I have to go, please just leave me alone”. I then turned around and walked out. I slammed the door behind me then quickly ran down the stairs and out to my car which was parked just in front of Meghan’s. I quickly started the engine up then left before Meghan could see me out her window. As I was driving down the motorway I could feel the tears rolling down my face. I quickly wiped them away as I didn’t want anyone in the car next to me to notice. Suddenly my vision went blurry from all the tears in my eyes and the last thing I remember was a bright light flashing before my eyes then everything went black.
