It would've just been another ordinary day. See what I did there? Would've. Honestly, it was one of the strangest yet most fascinating days of my whole life. It was like my life had changed in an instant. I remember it felt like my body was getting ripped up as I stepped through literal time and space. How I felt as if I was being held in a bubble, restricted of air. I always told myself to keep my eyes open. Stay alert. But how could I possibly open my eyes to see darkness before me, as the silhouettes of trees danced before my eyes as only just a second ago it was daytime. I knew when I saw no stars in the sky, but instead a purple horizon, I was no longer in my universe. I was somewhere else.
There was something which always made me feel eerie about this forest. It was always still and silent. The squirrels would run across in front of you and shoot up a tree to god knows where. The birds never whistled. The trees never blew. It was silent. I called it my forest. Nobody ever came here. It was near my school, but it was always blocked off to the people of town. I never had cared about rules or warning signs. I always jumped fences or barricades. Where's the fun in rules? Exactly. Nowhere. This forest was fascinating with a hint of suspicion. I had always wondered why it was blocked off to the public. It was so nice.
Peaceful.
Who wouldn't want to come into this forest. I came here almost every day after school. I sat by the big acorn tree which had pretty vines hanging over it. I would sit against the tree and do my homework, or sometimes just draw to ease my mind. I was never one to fancy company. I enjoyed being alone. Nature and the outdoors were my escape. This forest was my second home and I dare not let anyone trespass across my land.It was a Friday after school when I went into my forest. I hid my bike in a bush and jumped over the broken fence - the fence I smashed with my foot - and proceeded into the woods. It was still and silent. I decided to go further down into the depths of the forest that day. I had only go so far so I wouldn't get lost. It was a very wide and big forest filled with, probably, lots of dangers and mishaps. There's always a flaw in the system. That's what they say, right? I was probably stupid to go down further into the forest. There are reasons things are blocked off into the public, and there are also reasons why things are so far out of reach. I made a mistake that day going so far into the forest. When I walked into the shining glint which looked like a bubbles reflection, I knew I had messed up. It felt as if everything around me suddenly melted and I had been compressed into a thin piece of paper. I wanted to scream in pain but I couldn't. I could only see static and darkness. I could perceive nothing else. I could hear rushing noises. I couldn't breath. It was as if I had been restricted of air. Like someone or thing was teasingly choking me. Like I was dying.
I didn't have to think twice when I was laying on the ground in literal oblivion that I was definitely not in New Zealand anymore. The purple horizon didn't have to tell me I was somewhere else. Somewhere completely different. The thing that scared me the most? It was dark, and I had no idea how to get back to New Zealand. Or my actual universe. As I stood up and brushed the dirt off my clothes, I didn't know what to do. So, remember your friends, family, teachers telling you there is no multiverse? Well think again, because I entered one.
I looked among the purple horizon in complete horror, confusion and interest. It was like a replica of my Forest, but not the same. I started to walk along the forest floor in darkness towards where ever my feet took me. I didn't know where I was heading to, but I hoped somewhere good.
