Coming home from school, Ashley felt tired and weary. SATs, SATs, SATs and even more SATs. Luckily she was having her best friend Lisa over for a sleepover that night, so that brightened up her spirits. In the meantime her mum, Mrs. Evandalyn, was making tea at home whilst battling with the noise of Ashley's younger brother, Levi. He was a nightmare to keep under control. Not long after Mrs. Evandalyn had screamed at her son to keep the noise down, did Ashley walk in the front door, sobbing.
"Mum, I can't do it, I CAN'T DO IT!" screamed Ashley.
"You can't do what dear?" questioned her mum. "Will you keep it down, Levi?!"
Rudely, Levi was vrooming with his toy cars louder than the girls' conversation.
"SATs, it's just all going wrong and I have only got the weekend to practise. I am positive I'll come out with level 3!" cried Ashley.
"Oh sweetheart, don't talk such nonsense. You're going to do great and you know that. Keep your chin up, babe. Anyway, it's your 11th birthday tomorrow so look forward to that."
"Yep, you are right once again mum. Can I have a hot chocolate now?"
Later that evening, Lisa turned up for the sleepover. Ashley was so excited she could barely breathe! And what's more, Lisa had got her a day out to Alton Towers for her birthday, so her mum got up, went to look at the calendar and told the girls (and boy) that the next day they would go to Alton Towers. Ashley and Lisa were ten times more excited than to begin with.
The girls woke up the next morning to the sound of Levi for the hundrenth time, making terribly loud car noises, surprisingly very tired from their so called 'sleepover' when they barely had two hours of sleep. But the tiredness wore off very quickly when they both remembered that they were going to Alton Towers.
At the exact same time the girls jumped out of bed, threw on their clothes, washed their faces, had some breakfast and brushed their teeth. In minutes they were by the door, ready to go. They looked at the clock nearest to them. 7:30am. Way too early. What could they do for several hours while waiting for Mrs. Evandalyn to get up? The only simple answer was watch TV, as Levi had already switched it on and was watching the dreaded Disney Junior. They couldn't be bothered to come up with a complicated answer as the girls were just couldn't do that to themselves. So time passed on with lots and lots of boredom.
Eventually, Mrs Evandalyn had to wake the two girls, who had fallen asleep again, and she too was by the door, ready to go.
"What time is it, mum?" Ashley asked.
"Nearly 9am."
"Really, come on Lisa, we don't want to miss the park opening to get on the RIDES!" screamed Ashley, for all to hear.
It wasn't 50 minutes after departure from their home, when the gang arrived at Alton Towers Resort.
"Okay Ashley, you have to try Oblivion first," suggested Lisa.
"Noooooo way Lisa, you have to do Nemesis," butted Ashley.
"Noooooo Oblivion."
"Yes Nemesis."
"Oblivion!"
"Nemesis!"
"OBLIVION!"
"NEMESIS!"
"Okay girls, that is enou..." interrupted Mrs. Evandalyn. But then Levi let go of his mum's hand and started running off with his toy plane.
