CHAPTER SIX

"Nice to see you again Robber." The boy said, a smirk plastered on his face, his eyes falling deep into mine. I just stood there, dumbstruck, glaring at him. Now that I looked closely, I could see the similarities between the two of them.

They both had straight black hair, though Philip's was slightly wavy, their chocolate like eyes matched perfectly, and their skin colour was exactly the same, though it seemed like Abra was the kind of girl that spent either most of the time outside, went on a mission somewhere really sunny or just got bronzed recently, cause compared to me, she was like black ink on a paper, meaning I'm the paper.

"Done staring at me?" Philip asked cockily, making me realise I had been staring between them, creating an uncomfortable air surround us.

"Are you seriously telling me that every time I come down here I'm gonna have to put up with him?" I asked, directing the question towards my newly made friend, acting as if he wasn't even there. "Yep, but don't worry 'bout my twin, if he's ever in here, it's cause he's sleeping the drills off. We're here to keep a certain person safe since she is going to be showing herself to the world soon...".

I couldn't help but let a spark of interest come out from inside me, so before I could refrain myself, I asked casually, "And who may this girl be...?" They looked at each other, before answering at the same time, "The princess." I couldn't help but laugh, my stomach hurting, tears in my eyes.

"What's so funny?" Philip asked, looking at me with an incredulous face, "Nothing, you'll find out soon enough." I said between laughs, trying to calm my breathing down.

They continued looking at me in a way that actually made me reconsider if I was sane, but after a while, I managed to stop.

"So, you two are twins, bu-" I was cut short by Philip, "We are not twins! I was born five hours, fifty six minutes and about thirty seconds before her. So technically, I'm her older brother, not her twin." It seemed they had this argument often, because Abra shot back, "Remember I told you to go and look for the definition of twin? And you didn't do it? And I ended up reading it to you? I don't mind repeating myself, as long as you don't take too long to catch up with the advanced mentality of this century's children." It sounded so rehearsed, I wouldn't doubt them one bit if they told me they had this argument every day. They were both glaring at each other, sitting on the floor side by side.

"Okay, geez... You're twins that were born one before the other... Making you the big bro'. Happy?" I said, cutting the silence, making both of them snap out of their glaring war.

"Fine with m-" Abra couldn't finish, because at that moment, my room alarm went off, the lights in the corners of the room flashing reed, while the lights on the ceilings turned off. "What the hell is happening?" Exclaimed Philip, jumping up from his sitting position, and racing towards the door, peeking his head out. The loud alarm went off the moment I pressed the wall with my index.

"That, my friend, is my queue to head upstairs. Dinner's nearly ready!" They both looked dumbfounded, so giving Abra a quick kiss on the cheeks and nudging Philip out of the doorway, I walked down the stairs, passing the electrical barrier overlooking the different arenas.

As I clicked the button for floor plus two, the hidden floor beneath the one the one where my room was situated, I couldn't help but notice that Abra and Philip were standing in front of our door, waving at me, a giant grin plastered on both their faces. I smiled, waving back, disappearing through the metal ceiling.

As I walked into the dining room with my school friends, my mind couldn't help but wonder into it's own universe.

If Philip and Abra were going to be keeping me, well, princess Juliette safe, why hadn't my mother told me about it? Why had she kept it to herself, not muttering a single word towards me? Maybe it was because she knew I would never agree to someone keeping me safe, or maybe it had something to do with the fact that, since the death of my brother, she had somehow distanced herself. I once thought it was for the amount of kilometres that were stuck in between us, the amount of space that filled the earth, keeping us apart.
