What started out as a normal day for Leonora, turned out to be the best day of her life. A day where she met the one man who could change her mind on the outlook of life and death, a man who, inevitably, would build her up like a skyscraper. He would snatch her heart in a beat. Leonora always wondered what happened after death.
She walked down the New Orleans streets with her favorite red head, Jessica, and her favorite Asian, Anne. They had just stepped off the front steps of Leonora's apartment.
"Before you guys have to go to work, I think we should stop at the bar and see Cami and then-" she looked over at Anne, who was giving her a disapproving look. "What?"
"Don't you remember the last time you were there? I don't even know if they will let you in," Anne explained, watching the girl frown and stop in her tracks.
"That was when I was upset," she rolled her eyes. "You can't blame me for being upset."
"It was hamster, Leo," Anne shook her head with an amused smile.
"Hamsters are people too!" she declared, throwing her arms in the air with frustration.
"No, they're not." Jessica laughed slightly, watching as Leonora huffed and began to walk in the direction of Rousseau's. Both girls stayed put, waiting for her to tell them to follow.
"Well," Leonora looked behind her and smiled, "are you guys coming or not?" The red head playfully rolled her eyes and begun to walk with Anne to Leo.

Once they reached Rousseau's, they entered and walked straight to the bar. Cami was serving a customer as they sat at the opposite end of the bar. After Cami had set down the drink, she looked over and smiled at the trio, making her way over.
"An Australian, Red head, and Asian walk into a bar..." Leonora begun, but everyone groaned before she could finish. "What? It's not funny?"
"I think it's the worst joke I've ever heard," Cami laughed, "and I'm a bartender."
"Wow. That was harsh," Leonora told Cami, putting a hand over her heart. "I thought you were supposed to be a therapist."
The bartender rolled her eyes playfully. "What would you guys like?"
"I won't be having anything," Anne told her, "work is in twenty, and I suggest you don't have any either, Jess."
"I wasn't planning on it," the red head smiled.
"I will definitely have something," Leo said, raising her hand with a small smile. She looked so innocent, yet she wasn't. "Could I please have a- you know what? Let's switch it up today. A bourbon please."
After twenty minutes of talking and laughing, Anne and Jessica had to go to work and they left Leo sitting at the bar on her own. Luckily, she had Cami to keep her company.
Then, a stunning man in a suit waltz into the bar, asking if Cami had seen his brother. When she shook her head and disagreed, he decided to sit and order a drink. Leonora watched the man in wonder. He had this regal aura. This man that sat only a few seats away from her was so captivating and perfect.
"Leo?" Cami asked, gaining the girl's attention. She simply hummed, slowly looking away from the man.
"Who is that?" Leonora asked, "I've never seen him before."
"His name is Elijah Mikaelson and you've never seen him before because he got into town a couple days prior," the blonde raised one eyebrow at the girl as she said this.
"What?" Leonora asked, feigning innocence.
"I'm a Psychologist," she stated, giving the girl a knowing look and crossing her arms.
"And I'm studying to be a doctor," she mocked, earning a glare from the blonde behind the bar. "What does this have to do with that man over there?" Her studies had made the man perk up and listen. Even the polite were capable of eavesdropping and he had been living proof of that.
"I see your attraction to him, but you might want to get to know someone before you fall and face plant onto the concrete," Camille stated, watching as Leonora waved a dismissive hand.
"I'm not an idiot. That's practically my motto. That man over there, although he looks like a gentleman and a ruler-" she cleared her throat, whispering, "he could be a bank robber and gained his fancy clothing through scams," Leo shrugged, looking from the man to Cami.
The bartender shrugged, suggesting, "I could introduce you."
"No," but Cami was already walking off, "No! Cami! Get-" Leonora groaned as she watched the blonde walk over to the regal man. Cami talked to Elijah for a moment, then pointed to Leo. The man in the suit, Elijah, looked over and waved at the girl; she inwardly groaned and waved awkwardly back. Then, he smiled politely and got off the bar stool, going to exit Rousseau's. Leonora laid her head in the countertop in defeat. The bartender laughed happily, the sound bouncing around.
