Reaching out for warmth,
receives an icy cold stare.
Left all alone,
feeling so bare.
Isolated from people,
even though they surround
Feelings only one-sided
Tears fall without a sound
Longing for comfort
Wrapped in a hug
Feelings never returned
Now lies dead on the rug
