|3| Riverbank + Psycho = Excitement

River must have had one hell of a good reputation because as soon as I stepped one foot in the building I heard hushed whispers about him. I just want to continue with my normal morning routine, locker, hear Frankie talk a mile per second, and then go to Philosophy class. But god has other plans for me.

"River Kingsley has been spotted in the building, I repeat River Kingsley has been spotted in the building." I heard a familiar voice announce, I turned around and was greeted by Frankie who's with Raven, who looked beyond annoyed.

"Must you announce everything." Frankie glared at Raven. "What? Don't you agree Kizzy it's getting annoying? To be honest your whole personality is pretty bothersome." Raven muttered the last part, but Frankie heard.

"Well someone woke on the wrong side."

"No, I just find you irritating. Don't take it personally. Wait a minute I'm Raven, I don't care how you take it." Frankie's eyes slit in anger if the bell hadn't ringed Frankie would have attacked Raven. But we all know that Raven would have beat her ass.

"Cmon, Kizzy we have Philosophy to attend too," Frankie said coldly grabbing my arm tightly might I add. "See ya later negative Nancy." I heard Raven chuckled.

"Was that the best you could come up with." She burst into laughter.

**********************

I was on the verge of falling asleep. Can someone please tell me why philosophy is so boring. All we do is essays and more essays, and when we aren't doing an essay the teacher is lecturing about the nature of knowledge and reality.

"Kill me now." I groaned, "Why did I choose philosophy as an elective?"

"Because I begged you to take it with me, which I regret now," Frankie said while sneak texting.

"I'll take that." Mr. Benier took Frankie's phone.

"Hey! I need that," She gasped.

"And why's that?"

"Well sir, I run a gossip site for this school, so I need to update every hour." Mr. Benier shook his head and walked back to the front of the class.

"You guys know my motto." Suddenly the whole class says "if you don't want to be stupid, sad and a failure then put down that phone." Mr. Benier looked satisfied that we all remembered his motto. Well how couldn't we remember it, he says it 10 times a day.

"Anyways... Kizzy, do humans have free will?" I rolled my eyes. For some reason, I was actually great at philosophy I think Mr. Benier is just a horrible boring teacher.

"If free will means that God gives humans the opportunity to make choices that genuinely affect our destiny, then yes. The reason the world is sinful is linked to choices made by Adam and Eve. God created mankind in His own image, and that included the ability to choose. But free will does not mean that mankind can do anything they want. Our-."

I was interrupted by the door opening. A boy walked in, "Um is this Philosophy, room 420." the room became so quiet that you can hear a pin drop.

"Holy crap that's River," Frankie whispered.

I raised an eyebrow and looked over River. He didn't look like a bad guy. He had an innocent, but a daring face, I think it's because he had a bruise above his eyebrow. People watched as River walked to the back which so happened to be the free seat beside me. All the girls surprisingly weren't drooling or had lust in their eyes. They all had a similar expression on their faces, fear. All expected Frankie who looked like she wanted to jump his bones.

"Please continue Kizzy." I nodded

"Our choices are limited. For example, a man may choose to walk across a bridge or not. He can't choose to fly over the bridge nature prevents him. In another way, a man cannot choose to forget a sin committed, nature prevents him, his guilt will consume him. So, free will is limited by nature." Mr. Benier looked impressed for once in his life.

"What about psychos." River suddenly spoke.

"What about them?" I looked at him the moment we make eye contact his eyebrows furrowed.

"Psychos don't feel guilt."

"Psychopaths are defined as self-centered and aggressive people with a dangerously personality who craves excitement, feels little to no guilt, and is unable to form any emotional attachments to others." He tilted his head to the side and smirked as I continued, "psychopaths have a chemical imbalance within the brain. Psychopaths weren't born psychotic, something triggers it in the brain kind of like depression." His smirk suddenly fell once I finished. I turned away from him, but I could feel his eyes lingering on me.

"Hasn't anyone ever told you staring is rude."

**********************

"You lucky bitch!" I took a bite out of my burger.

"Why can't I ever eat in peace." Frankie glared at me sitting across from me. "And how am I a bitch?"

"Who's a bitch?" Raven asked sitting next to me and surprise surprise, Malik is right behind her clearly following Raven like a lost puppy.

"Kizzy," Frankie said still giving me a hard glare

"Why is Kizzy a bitch?" Malik asked sitting beside Frankie.

"Well, turns out River is in our philosophy class and he got to sit right next to Kizzy. Oh, and he was staring at her." Frankie folded her arms still glaring.

"WHAT THE HELL, KIZZY!" Malik stood up outraged. He was so loud that some people turned their attention towards us.

"Calm down Malik."

"I won't calm down! Don't you remember, River put me in the fucking hospital! You do realize he is a psycho that needs to be put in a mental ward or are you too dense to realize that!?" I rolled my eyes and glared at Frankie.

"Okay one, calm the fuck down, he sat next to me because there weren't any seats left. Two, I do remember the fight I was the one who pulled him off you and got punched in the eye for it. And three I'm the one who taught you the word dense so don't go using it like you are some saint, because you aren't you used that fight as a gateway to building your stupid reputation. And you," I pointed at Frankie. "If you're going to gossip tell the full fucking story." After I finished my rant Malik stormed off angrily which made me roll my eyes at his childishness.

"Why is everyone ganging up on me today." I looked at Frankie and she looked pissed that she was told off for the second time today.

"Well Frankie let me tell you this, I'm a bitch. But you my friend are a selfish nosy bitch and nobody likes a selfish bitch," Raven said bitterly which makes Frankie grit her teeth and storms off. Pause let me explain Frankie and Raven's relationship for a moment. Raven from the beginning strongly disliked Frankie. There is nothing wrong with Frankie she's just kind of a snake. I personally thought Frankie was cool in our Sophomore years it's just as time past Frankie became obsessed with exposing people. Also, she is one of those people who would be your trusted best friend one moment then one day she would turn on you. So she's basically a snake, I just feel like I can't defriend her because I'm too nice. So rather than creating an enemy, I'll stay friends. Plus it's to much work having an enemy.

"Damn is everyone on their period today." Raven joked. "I told you Kingsley was going to bring some excitement to Riverbank." I rolled my eyes and took a huge bite of my burger.

Finally peace and quiet.
