    Awoken by the repetitive blaring of the small box containing bright red LCD lines, that when configured in different ways, create the numbers 0-9. Which at this time happens to read the number 600.

    My body feels a sense of shock and anxiety due to the emergency-like sound traveling to my ear drums and being transferred to my brain. Which very quickly becomes processed and reminds me that the most urgent situation is to find the snooze button, which will end this harsh sound.

    I reach my weary arm towards the noise, and still must stretch out my long, boney fingers to finally touch the button of silence.

    At that same moment, the smell of bacon and syrup wafts under the crack of my plain, white bedroom door. The aroma makes it's way into my nasal passages, creating an image of a pad of butter melting over the top of a warm, fluffy pancake.

    As I throw myself out of bed once again, to begin a new day, I feel a sense of relief knowing, at least I get pancakes.
