Edward

Beeeeeeppp!! Beeeeepp!! Beeeeepp!! Beeeepp!! The clock says 06:00 am.

"Damn it!" I curse under my sheets as I try to squeeze a few more minutes of sleep from my struggling body. I am so sore. Ang sakit ng buong katawan ko and I don't think I can even make it to training today. Wait. What day is it today? Monday, right. No training. Yes!! Ten minutes more. Nope. Gotta wake up. Discipline, Edward. You're an adult now.

Yesterday, the Philippine Azkals just won the semi-finals of the 2027 AFC Suzuki Cup, and as last year's Champion, we plan on making this a back-to-back win for the country. "Ouch." I think I bruise my shin courtesy of the Indonesian right back whose name I can't quite pronounce. I get out of bed, half naked and still in my boxers,I go straight to the kitchen to make tea ( yeah, I'm British AF) and then to the bathroom to take a shower.

While running the warm water on my head, I feel like meron dapat akong importanteng gagawin today. Hindi ko lang tlaga maalala, hmmm... Lunes ngayon so walang training, but I will do some light workout and recovery work at the gym later. May taping ba ako today? Goodness! These things often happen to me. Minsan, I lose track of days. When it's tournament season, I tell my handler to ease up on my schedule so I could focus on my training more. I know what you're thinking, how can an actor be a footballer as well?

Well, wala namang sinabing kung artista ka, hindi na pwedeng maging athlete, diba? SO yes, in case you've been living in a cave in the last 5 years, alam mo na siguro that I, Edward John Barber is the team captain of the Philippine Azkals, the men's football team, and yes, at the same time an actor. Gone was the 16 year old British boy who barely spoke Tagalog- este Filipino. Medyo fluent na ako magFilipino these days. Ten years na rin akong nakatira dito sa Philippines and I feel really blessed by all the opportunities that were given to me. You'll probably see my face in one of those local bottled water brands, a local clothing line, and Adidas.Ph.

I got out of the shower just in time to catch my phone ringing and as soon as I saw the name on the screen, I knew I was in trouble.

"Heeeyyy, sis!" (Patay! I was supposed to pick her up from the airport today!) "Has your plane landed yet? Ang aga mo ata?" Mukhang dinaanan ng bagyo ang kwarto ko as I fumble with trousers and shirt to wear. At dahil April ngayon, I choose a whit shirt and roll up the sleeves to my elbows and tucked half of my shirt inside my khakis.
