An old friend

"Mom, I'm home!" I yelled as I pushed the door shut. "PAH, who am I kidding, she's probably out seeing that guy behind dad's back again."
I walked into the kitchen to find Christopher, my baby brother, sat in his high chair.
He immediately began wriggling around, attempting to get out. He was a year old but rather clever.
"Hey dude, yeah, you're not going to get out of there by wriggling." I put my backpack down and picked him up.
I took him in the living room and sat him down in his play area, it had a tiny gate so I knew he wouldn't get out.
As soon as I sat him down, he began to play with his toys.
I crept upstairs, hoping not to bump into dad.
But guess who I saw coming out of my room, dad.
He was drunk. I could smell the alcohol on his breath as he asked me, "Where have you been?"
I gave him a cold stare, "School, where else."
"Don't get cheeky with me you little rat!" He slurred, I ignored him and tried to get into my room when he gripped onto my arm.
"Get your brother in your room and watch him, I'm taking a nap." He then walked, occasionally tripping over, to his bedroom door. Yeah, I had a messed up family.
The mother disappeared to who knows where and was practically with a different man every night.
The father, an alcoholic who, if you got on the wrong side of, had a short temper.
The daughter, a smoking mess, had few friends and her drug was her watercolors.
And the 1 year old who happened to be the most sane person in this house.
Mom did have a job though, which paid rather well, but dad never left the house.
But I did as I was told and took Christopher up in to my room with me.
We watched a few movies played with toys, until we eventually fell asleep together on my bed.
I woke up to the 8 am alarm I set. And Christopher was gone, mom probably took him in her room.
The same cycle occurred; I went into the bathroom, got washed, tamed my hair then came back into my room to find an outfit.

When I finally found one, I grabbed my prepacked backpack and headed straight out the door. No breakfast yet again.
I went through the usual bore of the school bus, putting my bag on the seat next to me so nobody could sit there, and continued my Johnny Depp tonal piece.
When we arrived I put on that same "I don't give a shit face" and walked through the main doors to my locker where I met Cindy and Alison.
"I heard principal Goodly wants to see you now. Probably about that 'buddy' thing." Said Ali.
"Ugh fine, I'll meet you guys in the canteen with our new "friend". "
I said my goodbyes and made my way to his office. I heard muffled voices inside. I politely knocked on the door, and when I opened it, that's when I saw him.
That's when I saw non other than Leonardo DiCaprio. He was sat on one of the seats in front of the principals desk looking smug.
As soon as he saw me, he smirked.
"I'll let you two have some space." Said Principle Goodly as he squeezed past me in the door way. I shut the door behind me, and Leo stood up.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" I said through gritted teeth.
"What are you on about, haven't you missed me?" He laughed, getting closer to me. His piercing blue eyes staring deep into my soul.
"Oh, yeah." I said sarcastically. "Is this some kind of joke? Am I on some sort of TV show? HELLO WHERE ARE THE CAMERAS?!" I yelled, walking around the room.
"What are you talking about Jaz? I go here now."
"Why? Why have you come back, can't you just leave, I don't want you here!" He looked at me slightly hurt.
"I thought we were friends, we used to be best friends."
"Aha, yeah before you ditched me!" I sat down in the where I sat yesterday.
Leo sat next to me. "You've changed."
I turned to look at him, hatred in my eyes, "It's been 4 fucking years! Of course I've changed." He turned away from me.
"Fine, be a bitch about it all." He crossed his arms.
Suddenly, Principal Goodly came in. "Have you two become re-equanted?" I let out a laugh.
"Okay, take him to your first lesson now if you please Jasmine."
I mimed a gun being shot at my temple.
Leonardo and I left his office. I saw him out his backpack strap on.
"Any hot girls here then?" He joked, but I wasn't up for any of his jokes today.
He sighed as we carried on walking. "How's your mom?"
"Amazing because she's probably fucking some old man down the street." I said bluntly.
  "Your dad?"
"Alcoholic."
"Oh well, I guess a lot has changed since I left."
"Sure has." I said, barging a few kids out of the way. I noticed a few girls giggling at Leo as he winked at them.
"Man whore." I said simply.
We suddenly stopped as he grabbed my arm. "What have I done to make you speak to me like this?" He announced.
"You hurt me." I pulled my hand away and carried on walking. Leo was hot on my heels.
We finally made it to art, and woop di doo, my art teacher sat him near me.
I pulled out my canvas from yesterday and grabbed my watercolours.
My teacher had already given Leo an artbook to doodle in until she got him some proper canvas.
"Wow Jaz! I didn't think you could actually paint, that's pretty cool."
"Its Jasmine." I carried on painting, I didn't even look at him.
He didn't talk to me anymore during that lesson, instead he sat and drew. Occasionally looking up at me.
When the bell rang, I dropped him off at his second lesson without saying a word and carried on walking to my lesson.
At the end of history, i thought I had finally shook him off. But then I saw him standing outside my classroom talking to a girl. She was obviously flirting with him, putting her hands on his arm and giggling like a fucking bitch.
"Leo!" I shouted, he turned around to look at me, "Our mom said we can't make out in the gym closet anymore. Oh brother, what do we do now?" I laughed as the girl looked at him, disgusted and walked off.
"Jasmine, what was that for? She was hot."
"She's a giggling bitch, now lets go." He began to walk beside me. "Woaaaah girly. I stopped. Why are you walking beside me like we're equals?" I persisted to walk to my locker.
"You've always had a good sense of humour." He chuckled.
We finally made it to my locker. "Who said I was joking?" I said seriously. I opened up my locker to get out my lunch money.
"Woah, Johnny Depp? I've met him, cool guy." I wanted to ask him 101 questions, ask him what he was like. But I brushed off his remark and walked to the canteen.
"You think he's hot?" Leo asked, catching up with me.
        "What do you think."
"Well I thought you were into someone who looked like me."
"Leo," I stopped walking, I cupped his face gently.
"Yeah." He looked deep into my eyes.
"Go jump off a big rock." I let go and persisted walking to the the canteen.
    "Wow."
