"You should throw a party!" I cheer Jake on. He's been my boyfriend since Christmas. Or was it thanksgiving?
Oh well, not that it matters. What matters is that he'd do anything to keep me happy. He's a looker but is so gullible it hurts.
My earlier words finally registrated in his brain he takes a long look at me before taking a sip of his morning coffee. "And why's that, princess?"
Ugh, don't you just hate meaningless nicknames like that – princess? Half a world's population is being called princess. I lean forward a bit placing my hand on his upper thigh. "Well you know, new semester deserves a party."
"To be a successful one?" He asks, as I raise my hand just a bit higher. "Exactly." I touch his little friend just so he gets the point.
Now contrary to popular belief of the peers on this campus, I don't sleep around. Not at all. Not since I had the pleasure of meeting the most stupidly good looking but heartless man there is.
He took everything, but gave me nothing.
I was nothing.
He was everything. My world. The reason I woke up every morning.
And just like that he was gone. Just like the rest of them.
Some would call me heartless, emotionless but the truth is emotions drew me to what I am today. I know pain to well and all I do is keep it from getting me. Again, and again and again.
I concentrate on the task at hand as I realize I just completely ignored what Jake was telling me. "What?"
He gives me an 'are you ok?' look and I do a quick nod, before I hear him out. "I asked who would you like me to invite?"
