Empty bottles take you under like the ocean currents;
consuming you with the bitter salt and memories you despise.
You find the mirror broken,
like the dreams you haven't had for some time now.
Shards of glass cut the fragile skin.
You drown yourself in the blood of innocence,
because you know you can't swim to safety.
Serenity fills you as you set yourself free from your bonds.
Bodies surround you;
mangled and broken.
A noose has found it's way around your neck,
and you let your breath leave you.
The poison of all the words that cut you deeply...
are finally letting you go.
You have met your peace,
but bound everyone else to the life you left behind.
Leaving them with the haunting memories of your scars.
The scars from the life you could no longer handle.
Blades cut deeply,
moving with such ease across the skin of a child's innocence.
Pain is found in the people who don't deserve it,
and no one knows about the self-inflicted wounds.
We don't realize what's going on beyond the veil you wear.
Tonight you lie under your broken roof.
Your breaths ceasing,
and all words leaving you.
All senses are at a stand still as you are set to rest.
You don't know that we're crying for you,
because another empty bottle takes a life.
