Beep. Beep. Beep.

I groan and grope around my dresser for my phone. When I finally reach it I turn the alarm off and sit up. Reaching up I move the hair thats stuck to my face with drool away. I let out a jaw - splitting yawn and look over to my calander thats on the wall next to my bed.

Today's the day!

Feeling a sudden surge of energy I jump out of bed throwing my purple comforter on the floor. I open my door and walk out of my room into the hallway. Walking down the stairs, I bite my lip knowing thay when I reach the kitchen my mother will be there with a distant look in her eye.

When I reach the bottom of the stairs, I cross through the living room to get to the kitchen. I see my mom sitting there with a newspaper on the kitchen table looking out the window to the backyard.

"Hey mom..." I trail off as she turns to look at me. I notice she has red, puffy eyes.

"Oh. Hello Natalie. I didnt even notice you were up." She says softly.

"Uh... yeah. I just woke up." I reply awkwardly. My mother and I have never been good at having conversations.

She smiles weakly and pickes up the paper and folds it neatly.

"Is Nelly up yet?" I ask her. My mom has always been so busy with work that she never really had time for me or Nelly so I basically raised her.

"No not yet." My mom responds.

I turn and look at the clock on the wall thats on top of our back door frame. It reads 9:45.

"Im going to go wake her up. She has ice skating lessons at 10:30." I say. Dad and I dont fly out until 12:45. We only live about 20 minutes away from the airport so dads going to get a cab and pick me up at 10:45.

My mom stands up and turns to me with tears in her eyes.

"Oh Natalie. What am I going to do without you?" My mom cries wtapping her arms around me. I gently rub her back soothing her.

"You'll be okay mom. Nelly will help you. Shes a smart girl and I'll always be just a phone call away." I let go of her gently and turn to walk back up the stairs to wake my little sister up.

"Hey dad!" I say hopping into the back seat next to him.

"Hey, kiddo." He responds, his eyes glimmering in amusement.

We're leaving for the airport now. Leaving for a new adventure.

After making breakfast for the three of us and cleaning up, I went back upstairs to my room so I could get ready. I took the fastest shower I have ever taken in my life, threw my hair up into a messy bun and got into comfortable travel clothes.

It was a long goodbye. I hugged my mom and gave her a kiss on the cheek. When I said goodbye to Nelly, I had tears in my eyes. Nelly was crying and holding on to me for dear life. I had a box that had some of my most valuble possessions.

The box I gave her contained a journal that I wrote advice for her in every day. The journal held information that would cover everything she would need to know from how to find her style to boy problems. The box also had my lucky emerald necklace and Mr. Gooberschneeb, the little stuffed monkey that got me through everything.

Anyways, back to now. We went through security and we were now waiting st the gate. The only belongings we had were the clothes we had on and my little suitcase of books.

I look at my dad and smile.

"Are you ready for our three and a half hour flight Nat-Pat-Patoot-toot?" My dad grins with mischief sparkling in his eyes.

"You can bet your precious family jewels on it!" I respond and laugh drawing attention to us.

"You know, I might just do that." My dad chuckles.

"Hey dad, I really have to pee so I'll be right back." My dad nods his head and I start making my way to the restrooms.

After I finish using the lavatory I make my way back to the waiting area for my flight. When I reach my seat I see my best friends waiting there for me. I texted them this morning telling them I would miss them.

"What are you guy-" I get cut off due to Hannah, Luke, and James all running to me and pulling me into a hug. I laugh when we all almost fall.

"Im going to miss you guys so much." My words muffle into James's shirt.

"I know babe, were going to miss you too." Shelly replies.

We untangle ourselves and straighten our clothes. Shelly reaches to my seat and picks up a present.

"We all chipped in to get you a present for the flight." Luke says as Shelly hands me.

"Awww... guys, you didnt have to." I say, my eyes filling up with tears. My best friends are the best.

"We wanted to." James says, throwing his arm around my shoulder. I give all of them another hug.

"You guys are seriou-" I'm cut off yet again as they call my flight number out.

I bite my lip to hold the tears back. I give them all a hug again and promise to text them when I get there. My dad already has a huge house out in Westminster and he already ordered furniture that was supposed go arrive tomorrow.

I look at my dad and we board the plane. We're flying in first class today. We find our seats and he lets me have the window. Wow. This first class is the fanciest I have ever seen in my life.

We hear a ding and the pilot's voice cackles over the loud speaker.

"Passengers, please buckle your seatbelts and thank you for flying with us today. Enjoy your flight." As the plane takes off I look out the window and look at the familiar landscape get smaller and smaller.

I grab my present and open it. My eyes immediately fill with tears. Its a polaroid camera. One day my friends and I were at the mall and I saw this blue polaroid camera that immediately caught my eye. I pointed it out and fell in love with it. I didnt have enough money to buy it and I was super sad about it.

Attatched to the camera there's a note.

A happy tear rolls down my cheek as I look put the window again.

"Today is the day we go to where new adventures await." Is the last thing I think before I drift off into a peaceful slumber.

Hey its me again. I wrote a new chapter and im proud that I actually did it 😊 I've been super sick lately so yeah its been 6 days since I updated.. oh well! Anywhooo, this songs been stuck in my head so much that I had to learn it on the piano to get it out 😂 Soooo yeah.. enjoy!
