BIIIIIIINNNNNGGGGGG

I punched my alarm clock's snooze button. It was the week before Spring Break, and I really wanted to sleep in. I reluctantly got up and put on some school clothes. I really wasn't in the mood to see Brian or Franny. Because of me, Brian was even more mad at Franny than he was at me because it "wasn't her place to get involved in our issues." I mean, really? I called her in the first place in order to help me out with revenge. Now she was taking the blow and I felt really guilty.

I drove to Union High in my beat up Ford, like always, and put my hood up. After me and Franny's sabotage, people are almost afraid of me, but there's not much to be afraid of. I'm just like anyone else! So, for the past few days, I've been trying to fly under the radar.

I debated talking to Franny in between classes, but decided against it. It's been like that for he past few days. After school, I couldn't take it anymore and decided to call her up.

"Hey, are you okay?" I asked.

"No," Franny said.

"Look, I'm so sorry! I've been feeling so guilty and I'm sorry for ignoring you. I want my best friend back! Please talk to me."

"I know you're sorry, Amy. I just need some time. And I'm done with you ignoring me, okay. I need you to be here for me, now more than ever. Brian and told me off again at lunch today."

"Wait, what's been going on with you and Brian lately?" I asked incredulously.

"Oh, just him insulting me, calling me a ignorant, selfish brat that can't keep her nose out of everybody else's business. Just the norm," she said, as if it were no big deal.
I thought it was a big deal.

"You know what? I'm gunna come over to your house right now, and we're going to talk this out! We're going to call Brian and tell him how much of a jerk he is and-"

She cut me off, "No please don't! You don't have to-"

But I had already hung up and tried to make my way out to the car. I jammed my key into the key hole, but it wouldn't start. I tried it again. It still wouldn't start. So, I decided to check my engine to see what was going on.

I popped to hood up and found my engine completely damaged. What happened? I thought. It wasn't like this this morning. I looked it over and found a post-it note on it. It read:

Sorry, Amy. I can't risk you going over to Franny's and planning more sabotage against me. -Brian

I felt my mouth hanging open. He must have overheard me. But how? I was just talking to Franny over the phone! In my own house! Why was that creep over here in the first place? I didn't know, but I was going to find out.

I caught the bus and went to his house. I rapped on the door, and he opened it.

"WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY CAR?!" I yelled.

His face got red. I tapped my foot, impatient. "Why were you at my house listening to me and Franny's conversations?"

Brian threw his hands up in surrender. "I didn't mean to! I was just..." his eyes dropped.

"You were just..?"

He didn't respond. "If you don't answer me, it just gives me a whole other motive to drive me to paint your entire house black..." I threatened.

"Okay! I was planning getting back at you the same way you got back at me!" He yelled.

"You creep! You were going to sneak into my house?!" I shouted.

"You did it!" He snapped.

I huffed, frustrated. I walked off.

"Where the heck are you going?" He asked suspiciously.
