Virgil ran, staff propelling him now, for they were close to the battleground. He needed to heal. The bodies everywhere overwhelmed him. He was but a kid only two years of age older than Hadrian. A man reached out, blood covering him, reaching out with one arm, the rest of his limbs gone. His ears then filled with a roar. A man charged him, heavily built, a devilish smirk upon his face. Virgil hit the man with his staff, it impacting his knee. A sharp crack then followed. Virgil grimaced and then stabbed him with his dagger. He lost his group in the mob of sides mixing. He downed two with his dagger, cracked ones skull with his staff, then knocked another out with his staff. Soon he saw a boy moving swiftly through the crowd, sword in hand, that same smirk he'd seen every time. He ran over to Hadrian and stabbed an enemy behind him who had just finished off their target. If they turned around they would've killed Hadrian. The man's cloth shirt under his armor turned a very dark red. He gasped loudly, then was interrupted by a dagger through his neck. The same dagger that had gone through his back had gone through his neck. Blood began spewing from his mouth as he finally fell to the cold, wet ground. He turned around and saw a glint in the corner of his eyes, barely dodging it in time. He then rolled in between the man's wide stance and then hopped up. An arrow whizzed past his ear and was now sticking out from the man's eye. Maverick. Beside him was Morpheus and Magnus. Hadrian ran past rolling under a soldier's large axe and continuing towards the three. The men didn't care about him though. There were very few people left around him besides enemies. He was surrounded. Hadrian turned back to see the circle surrounding the small group, Virgil inside. Virgil had no choice but to fight. He hated it. But he had to. He stabbed a few, until he was hit with the pommel of a sword. Hard. The impact knocked him over. His life was over. He then saw Hadrian stab two men, making his way into the circle. He rushed to Virgil's side, examining cuts Virgil didn't even know he had gotten so far. His vision was blurry and he struggled to see. He saw a flash of what appeared to be flames devour the men. He saw a very blurry Hadrian staring at his hands, in what he assumed was shock. His vision went black. His eyes opened again to see the face of Hadrian above him. His other senses appeared and he came to the realization that the boy was carrying him. His vision flooded with a blinding, white light, then faded to black again, his senses disappearing again.
