Neil POV

I raced away from the scene with the strange girl next to me. She turned in the seat. Starring behind us. Her hair covering her face. I remembered the glow around her when she knocked me down. Then the jewels. Her form had been replaced by jewels, glittering jewels. I didn't know what had come over me when I drove and saved her. If it hadn't been for the text I never would have done it.

The girl sighed, confident that we had lost them, as we pulled up to a light. I pulled out my phone. I had no calls and messages. Looking back up to the road we continued to drive. Its then that she realized that she was alone in a car with a strange boy. I felt her shift towards the door. Pressing herself closer to the window. Nothing was said and an awkward silence fell between us. I didn't know if I should say something or stay silent. Silence was better of everyone. This continued for three quarters of an hour.

"Thank you for saving me, please drop me off at the next town." I turned my head to look at her for a moment before returning my gaze to the road. Her gaze was intense, her knuckles were white around her phone and bag.

"Your welcome...I'm not sure you want to get off at the next town." I said, I was terrible at small talk, did this count as small talk. I shrugged mentally.

"And why is that?" she asked her words well chosen and short.

"Those people are still after you-" I started to say.

"Yes they are, and you should let me off so you can get away." She said cutting me off.

"And why are they after you." I asked thinking it was better not to argue with her. She may be shorter and prettier than me but she was scary. You could see the fire in her eyes. You would have to be stupid to underestimate her.

"Why?" She asked. A sort of chuckle and sigh escaped my lips. I turned, not saying anything for a moment.

"Because scary men are chasing you." I responded as if that was obvious. Al tho I did have an idea of why they were chasing her. I would know soon, but based on everything.

"Why did you pick me up, I'm a stranger." She asked suddenly.

"My names Neil. what's yours?" I could have lied about my name, but I went with my instincts which said to tell her.

"Mia." She said simply. Keeping her eyes on me.

"Now we're not strangers." I said simply, saying the only thing I could think of. Mia looked at me as if I had just shit rainbows. "Here why don't we go for fast food." I said as her stomach made a noise. "And if you wanna leave after then go I won't stop you."

"Alright." She said and the silence in the car resumed. It was a less awkward silence but not less tense.

An hour later we were at a small rest stop.

"What would you like to eat?" I asked. The road was lined with places to choose from. She pointed and that's where we would eat. Maneuvering through traffic, I entered the parking lot. When the car stopped, Mia flew her door open with her stuff. She looked like she wanted to run.

'Shit' I mutter. Pulling out my phone I opened up the mysterious app and typed. Sending my message to the group. Her phone buzzed. She stared at the phone. Gazing around wildly. Getting out of the car. I looked at her, phone in hand. "You sure you want to leave." I ask again. A small smirk finding its way onto my lips.

"Rose? Are you Rose??" She asked. I nodded.

"Rosetta Stone. In the flesh." I said grinning.

"You're a DUDE?!" I stood there for a few seconds before cracking up. Holding my sides, I guess I should expect it seeing as in the group they called me Rose. Wiping away a tear I stood up straight.
