"So, superstar, feel like helping me find my next class? I don't know how to navigate around this world of a school yet." She says, tossing me my Letterman jacket.
"Why of course... uh-"
"Trouble finding a name for me?" She smirks, walking past me, I turn slowly in her direction. She is wearing a blue sundress than compliments her pale skin perfectly.
"Well it's hard when I know next to nothing about you, love."
"Love? Funny, you don't sound British... I kinda like it though... I'll tell you anything you want to know between now and my next class. After that...-"
"Coffee? My treat?" I ask, biting the bullet. This isn't going to get anywhere by just waiting for something to happen.
"Wow, someone's eager." She says as I walk up next to her.
"More, curious. Curious about who this girl is with brown hair and brown eyes who is always smiling but also has this bad ass vibe to her." I then ask her to hand me her schedule, huh she's a junior too, I look at it and then start leading her to the math wing. People are gathered around the hallways wearing their new clothes, trying to look their best.
"Well, what do you want to know?" she asks, looking up at me.
"Let's start out simple... Where are you fr-" I almost finished my question when Jess ran up to me and play shoved me into the wall. I see Quinn trying not to laugh out of the corner of my eye and mentally curse Jess. I regain my balance and put my arm around her shoulders and pretend punch her in the stomach. "Hey, Loser."
"Hi, Shan. I was coming to bring you back your hat. Totally forgot about it." She takes it off of her head and puts it on me and then taps the bill down so it covers my eyes. "Who is this?" She asks looking at Quinn.
"Jess this is Quinn, Quinn this is Jess." I didn't know how to feel about this encounter because it was my ex meeting the girl I like but also my best friend meeting the girl I like so it was a whole double threat.
Jess' eyes became wide with realization that it was the girl from this morning and she gave me a sly grin. "Hi, it's nice to meet you!" Jess reached out and they shook hands and Quinn said the same thing back. "So are you coming to the game tonight? It's home and free and we always like to see more people in the stands. I bet Shan would like for you to come." My cheeks instantly become red.
"Hmmmm... Sure! I'll be there. What time does it start?" She says actually looking excited. I hope her being there will just get me to try harder and not mess up because I'm nervous.
"It starts at 5. Also, it's a white out so everyone will be wearing all white, just a heads up." The thought of Quinn coming to our game makes my chest all warm.
"Yeah, the first game of the year used to always be beach themed but we had to stop because too many guys came shirtless and too many girls were coming in bikini tops, it's a shame if you ask me." Jess says, skipping along with her letterman jacket over her shoulders and winking at a few girls as she passed by.
"Yeah I agree. A real shame....." Quinn says while looking up at me and smirking.
I clear my throat and try to shake my head of the thoughts that are clouding it of.... Quinn.... In a bikini....- "-uh yeah so this is your class. You have 5th period lunch, right?" She nods and I scramble out a piece of paper and write my number on it. "Here's my number. Text me when you're at the cafeteria and I'll come find you."
"You got it, bye ladies." Quinn says and enters her classroom.
Jess slaps my arm and gives me the shit-eating-est grin ever. "Ow, asshole. Let's just get to class."
