The cold rain seemed to slow, as if someone were lowering it down. But that's not reality, this was in her head. Her thoughts raced, seeming to slow time.
"J-im-" she choked out, but instantly covered her mouth, hoping that he didn't hear her.
In the constant pitter patter of the rain, it was very unlikely that he heard her.Slowly, she walked forward through the slowed rain, making her seen even faster than she was. He looked so unreal, he looked fictional standing there drenched in the unforgiving rain.
Without noticing, Kristina stopped walking when she was right behind the boy. The boys heavy breathing and sobs were clear and noticeable.
She made sure to be careful with making any sudden movement, as though she felt like he was a bird that if you startle he'll fly away.
She had no idea what to do, and was questioning why she had gotten so close behind him without a plan. She panicked for about 30 seconds until she could see the boys body slowly start to fall forward.
He spread his arms out to the side, which were covered in a soaked see through white long sleeve shirt, and started to fall forward.
The slow motion was now gone and everything seemed like it was happening at the speed of light.
Without even thinking, Kristina lunged forward to the boys waist to attempt to grab it, not letting him fall.
When she did, she sat there, shocked, and heart broken, because she felt nothing but could, wet, cruel air in between her arms.
