Detective Agency / Chapter One
Perrie Edwards's Point Of View
Cam told me that I was to report at Le Mossier at exactly 8:00am, says it has something to do with the case. She said that a man should meet me at the front desk and I'm suppose to say this secret word - Allies (which in my opinion, is very cheesy). I barely made it there. The cab driver had no sense of direction at all. Today wasn't going to be the smoothest for me.
"Hey!" The cab driver roared. "Where's my tip?"
I gave the cab driver the evil eye. "You made me late for my job! Bloody hell! You ran almost every red light that was on the street. No tip for you." I yelled as the cab driver gave me a rather 'uncalled for' response.
I walked away, getting closer to the entrance of Le Mossier. The bellboy gave me a warm smile as I walked into the building. I heard my heels clack on the floor as I walked to the main desk.
"Hello? Anyone here?" I said, curiously.
A tall man, that looked looked around in his forties, met me at the front desk of the hotel, just like Cam ordered. "You must be..." He paused trying to remember my name. "Perrie?"
I nod, giving a weak smile. "Yes sir and you must be?" I held out my hand for him to shake it, but he didn't.
"Walter Cunningham III." Walter states.
He seems uppity, I thought.
"Nice to meet you. Has Cam talked to you about me being here?" I questioned.
He looks around the desk, trying to find something. "Yes she has. She is a divine lady."
I nod, agreeing with him.
Cam has been there for me though thick and thin. She's like a second mom; taught me everything that I needed to know about the job. And if something were to happen to her, I don't think I could even go on as an agent.
Walter grabbed a key. "Perrie, would you care to say anything to me at—" I interrupt Walter at mid sentence.
"—allies." I said, proudly.
One thing for sure is that I love being right about everything sometimes.
Walter looked unsatisfied. "I wasn't talking about that, dear. I wanted to make sure that you knew the case really well."
I look away, shyly. "Oh. Sorry, Walter."
Walter looked at me, a bit more uptight then before. "Don't call me, Walter, call me, Mr. Cunningham."
I snort at his remark. I just wanted to get through the day without getting piss at the next guy.
"Can you just tell what my assignment is?" I cooed.
He huffed and then told me to follow him to the elevator, while twirling the key onto his point finger. "Fine. But come inside the elevator first."
I rolled my eyes and walk into the elevator like he ordered. He then pulled out a walkie talkie and said, "09756438."
"Access granted. Where would you like me to take you on this fine evening, Walter?" The feminine voice flirted as Walter began forming a crimson read.
"Oh, Roberta. Always the charmer," He cooed. "I need you to take me to room 8b."
"Not a problem, Walter. Have you been working out?" She asks.
"Oh, Roberta. How did you noticed?" He said curious.
