Off the Plane and Into Korea

The plane finally landed in Incheon at around 2 in the morning. There had been one stop in Hawaii at around 7 pm, during which everyone had had to change flights. Pdogg casually strolled next to Carleigh and Ayumi during the change, and, as they assumed, decided to sit next to them again. It was like #airplanesquadgoals except they all looked like death. On a whim, during the last thirty minutes of the flight Carleigh whipped out a couple of "energizing" facemasks for Ayumi and her to wear. She looked like she was about to refuse, eyes darting to their new friend in the aisle seat, when he asked Carleigh if she had an extra mask. So all three of them lounged as best they could in their seats with TONY MOLY Real Fruit Energizing Lemon, Pomegranate, and White Peach face masks. Carleigh was cackling and Ayumi was trying to keep a straight face as well. The only person who seemed perfectly comfortable with his mask was Pdogg. He even photobombed the selfie they tried to take, and took a few selfies of his own.

"I'll tag you guys as soon as we land." He said, chuckling to himself. Carleigh looked at Ayumi with small, ecstatic flames dancing behind her eyes. Ha HA, they had made a connection!

"Thank you!" Ayumi smiled at him. There was fire in her eyes as well. The both of them must have looked rather ridiculous, sitting there all sincere with their faces ghostly white with mask. Pdogg smiled creepily (the mask matched the whiteness of his teeth) and then asked if it was time to unpeel.

They said their goodbyes with tired eyes as Pdogg transferred to yet another flight that would take him directly to Seoul. At around 3 am after going through customs, Ayumi and Carleigh were able to walk to the youth hostel room they had acquired online from the airport. This time, they didn't have a Spanish speaking Japanese driver and a hospitable Landlord&Co. and, since they were not as fluent in Korean as they were in Japanese, not getting lost in the convoluted subway system beneath seemed like the best option. While they were walking, Ayumi began to rap. "Tired eyes. Sunrise. Surprise. We're in Korea, there's a pizzeria, here's an idea, let's go get some water right now because I'm parched." Carleigh agreed wholeheartedly and laughed at her genius.

Surprisingly, Lotteria was still open at 3 am. Carleigh marveled at that particular characteristic of Asian countries, the fact that establishments remained open well into the night, making it easier for the two to find food at odd hours. They only let them in if they bought something (go figure) so they purchased a margarita pizza with their water that remained untouched until they took it to go. That was no issue, though, because much like revenge, pizza is best served cold. But--"There's CORN on my PIZZA. Why is there CORN on my PIZZA?" Carleigh wanted to flip a table without scaring the cashier. Walking out, she vowed to decorn the whole thing when they finally decided to eat it.

After finally reaching their safe haven, Ayumi and Carleigh sprawled across two bunk beds and scrolled through social media before passing out. On Instagram, Carleigh decided to check Pdogg's page to see if he had actually tagged them in one of his pictures. In fact, he had. "Dude. Check itttt. Look at this picture!" She handed her phone up to Ayumi, who was on the top bunk.

"Whaaatt?" She started snickering. Carleigh laughed along.

"We're making connections! Ahhh dude what if, am I right?"

"Yes, dude." His page was super aesthetic, the selfie was as aesthetic as a selfie on a plane at 2 am could be, and his caption was...in Korean. Well, darn. At least they were tagged. Maybe Slow Rabbit or someone important, like BTS Jimin or someone, would see the photo and be enthralled.
