Mate Or Beloved? (On Hold)

"But Mom," I whined, "Why can't I go meet Jack at the mall? I just got another text from him, he wants to talk to me."

A lot of people hate that me and Jack are a couple, even though most people didn't even like it when we were only best friends. Even though I hate what people think of us, it's only because he is a vampire and I'm half vampire and half werewolf. I know that I have not yet found my mate, but once I do I might still want to be with Jack instead. Our parents are great friends so they really don't mind us being friends. We found out as soon as we became a couple that both of our parents have been betting to each other that if we become a couple, we'll break up it will ruin our friendship, but we told them how much we love each other and how we will never break up. We also found out that they were betting on when and if we do become a couple. My parents won that bet when we became a couple.

I was lost in thought thinking about Jack's muscular chest and his perfect six-pack with his paleness and heavenly face of perfection. When all of a sudden, my phone vibrates. I realize that I have a huge stupid looking grin on my face when I realize that I got a text from Jack, so I bring my huge grin down to small happy smile. I completly was brought back to reality when I realized why he texted me, he thinks I am meeting him at the mall.

<Jack> Hey Lily, u r meeting me at the mall, right?

<Lily> What if I don't wanna go shopping or go out to eat?

<Jack> Did u really think that is what we were going to do? I was hoping we could go our spot on the hill and, chat.

<Lily> Yeah of course I know I just wanted to make you smile even if I can't see u, also I am in the car with my mom let me just bother her a little more, txt u in a few. I miss you. :-)

<Jack> Yeah thanks for letting me know, I miss you too, I need you in my arms as soon as possible, school is starting soon we won't be able to spend as much time 2gether. Miss you babe, see you soon.

"Hey mom," I said dragging out the 'm' at the end, "Jack's waiting for me at the mall."

"Honey, I don't think that I should be trusting you guys considering you're 17 and in love," My mother said with a small chuckle.

"Mom don't worry he is just going to help me find an outfit for the first day of school and I'm going to help him find one too. Then we are going to buy the school supplies that we need. Once we do that we are going to go to the movies," I tell her with almost complete honesty considering that I know she won't let me go if we are going to his house for the movie, which we are, because she knows that any time we watch a movie at his house we always sit on the couch or the bed in his room, our excuse for doing so is because "It has the best tv".

"Lily! We're here if you didn't notice or were you too lost in thought. Wait let me guess, you were thinking about Jack. But yes, you can go as long as you come home by midnight. I'll be waiting by the door. Not a minute later or else you're grounded for three days. You need to start getting back into your school schedule, school starts in a week." My mom says as I put things away in my bag. "Tell Jack that also you will have to spend-," And that is all I heard since I closed the car door and ran, actually sprinted, when Jack waved to me. I just realized how much like a girl in movie running to her boyfriend and her hair is blowing in the wind gracefully. It's sort of like that except way less graceful, and when I mean way less graceful I mean I tripped and got caught by Jack because my long wavy auburn hair got stuck in my lip gloss and covered my eyes.

"I see that you just couldn't wait any longer to literally fall into my arms," not very happy with what he said I stood up on my own, turned to face him and crossed my arms.

"I didn't want to fall into your arms I want to go to the mall," I said trying to be as serious as possible. He and everyone I know, know that I hate shopping so I am trying to be serious. But of course I failed miserably.
