Daniel's POV:

I awoke, not knowing where I was. I saw silver, fluffy, almost curly hair in front of me. The curtains blew in the wind and I finally recalled where I was. I checked for my phone but it was nowhere to be found. "Don't bother", a voice whispered. Joey turned over and took a look at me.

"Isn't this going a little too fast? I know like, nothing about you." He was right. I wasn't crushed by his words. I really do want to get to know him, but not like this.

"Look Joey, I don't think I'm cut out for this. This isn't the life that I live." I tried to explain how I felt to him. He gave me a very blank stare, I barely could make up my mind.

"But last night, we connected, it was something." He started to smile but I didn't want the same thing. "No, we can not do this." He began to get angry, raising his voice slightly.

"Why not!" His face began to turn red. "I like you! Let me in please!" What have I done? "Joey, I'm sorry. I just can't." I had no excuse. "Here! Get all of your shit and get out of my house!"

He proceeded to throw my phone and jacket at me. I started to walk out, I noticed him curled up, crying, needing someone. That someone can't be me.

I was finally out of his house when he opened the door. "Don't you ever call me again. It's been almost a week of you leading me on and it's not fair." He paused. "Fuck you Daniel." Those were his last words.

I got into my car and slammed my door. I'm such a fool. I'm not good enough for him, I would him ruin him, I'm the boy your parents tell you to watch out for.

12:00am. The usual time I come home after drinking all night. I met a guy, his name is Phillip and we just hit it off. I took him back to my house. "Hey! Let's go have some fun!" I take his hand leading him to my bedroom. We're both super drunk.

We're both in the swing of things until I hear someone banging on my front door. "Just wait right here." I told the guy as I grab a sheet and wrap it around the lower half of my body.

The banging gets even louder, until I finally open the door. It's Joey. "Are you fucking kidding me?" He says. "Who's up there Daniel? Because I'm pretty sure that you said you weren't ready for me but you get to fuck someone else?" His voice was loud.

"Joey let me expla-" He cuts me off, pushing me aside to go upstairs. I run up after him trying to stop him but he's faster than me. "Get the fuck out!" He yells at Phillip.

Thinking that Joey is my boyfriend, Phillip grabs his stuff in a hurry and leaves. "We need to fucking talk. Not later, not tomorrow, now." He sits down on the bed. "And put some clothes on."

I throw on a shirt and a pair of boxers. "What are you doing here? I was in the middle of something." I tell him. "You know, it's not fair that I get led on by you. Then, I come here to talk to you and a couple hours later you're fucking someone?"

He's obviously hurt. I try to act like I don't care but my feelings are overwhelming. "I care about you." I say quietly. He looks over at me. "Then why don't you act like it?" He says. "I want to be in a relationship with you but I can't keep chasing you. I don't care if you're a stripper, I don't care if you can't love me. I accept you for who you are" His tone is now soft.

"Okay, I'll try it, but you need to know about my past if there's going to be a future between us." I sit down next him.

"When I first came out, my parents kicked me out. I was homeless until I started to strip while making my way through college." I continue explaining. "Everything was great until my first real relationship. I was a drunk, I was verbally abusive, and I cheated on him."

"I was in such a bad place, I took my anger out on him. He eventually broke up with me and I began going to a therapist for my anger and alcohol abuse." He had no expression on his face. "I understand." He says. "You've had a rough past, I'm willing to help you overcome that. You're past is not what makes you." He explains to me.

I felt relieved. Like a 300 pound weight has been lifted off my chest. "You're more than your past Daniel. I want to be a part of your future." He got up, slowly walking towards me.

"But, it's only been about a week. You can't say I love you. You don't know that yet." I stated. "I'll find out." We were finally close enough to each other. I wanted to kiss him, but now isn't the right time.

"I guess I'll see you later, call me please?" He finally walks down stairs and heads towards the door. "I'll call you. I promise." I tell him that and I mean it. Joey is like a light in my dark cave. This is something new, something that I won't lose.

I hear his car pull out of my driveway. I think to myself, how has it only been a week and I want this person in my life? What is so special about him that I can't contain my feelings anymore. Then, I remember.

It's everything.
