The most special day of the year for any young child is finally here, it's Charlie's 7th birthday. His parents have planned this party all month. His mom blew balloons, hung decorations, made a cake, and even hired a clown for the party.
As Charlie sits on the couch and waits for all his friends to show up to his party, his father joins him. "Your mother and I are going to make year very special for you". His father says with a grin on his face. The doorbell rings and his mother skips down the hall from the kitchen to get the door. All his friends come walking through the door with arms full of gifts, and the last person in the door is the clown.
"Hey birthday boy, and what's your name?" He says with the iconic clown voice.
"Charlie" he says with an annoyed look on his face.
"Samuel the Clowns the name" with his hand out to shake Charlie's hand.
Charlie shakes his hand with a tight grip. After eating cake and opening gifts, Samuel the Clown has a few tricks to show Charlie and his friends. Balloon animals, something all clowns do at parties. He leans over Charlie. "What's your favourite animal? I'll make it extra special for you." Charlie wants him to make an elephant. After several attempts Samuel fails to prevail. Charlie's mother comes in from the kitchen from chatting with Charlie's friends parents. "The parties over now, Charlie thank everyone for coming."
"Hmm I didn't see Samuel leave. I guess he must have just slipped out on us, he didn't even get the money we owe him."
Charlie says goodbye to all his friends as they walk out the door.
"Mom, I think I'm going to go play with my new toys in my room" Charlie says. "Okay but be too long, dinners ready in 30 minutes."Charlie sits on his floor and plays with his new dinky cars. He hears slight crying coming from his closet. The door starts shaking slightly and he wonders if the cat just got stuck in there this morning when he was getting dressed. He stands to go open the closet when it opens a crack and he see's white gloves in the dark shadows. He freezes as the door slowly creeks open wider and he see's the full figure of Samuel in the night of his closet. The crying gets louder. Samuel looks up at Charlie and takes one step forth from the closet. "I'm sorry kid" Samuel says just as one step turns to many.
