"Ugh, y/n you're such a procrastinator!", I whispered violently to myself as I rush through the busy sidewalks of New York. "Deciding to watch Phantom a few hours before your new job probably wasn't the smartest idea."

My first day at work is today and I only have 4 minutes till' my shift starts. Maybe I won't be late because the bar slowly creeps into my eyesight. My heartbeat slows down and my pace becomes regular. I check the time on my phone and start running, seeing that I only have 1 minutes until my shift starts. I carefully navigate the sidewalk trying not to run into any irritated pedestrians, knowing full well that this is New York, and plenty of them are irritated. Within 5 meters of the bar, I slam against a hard body that knocks me to the ground. I lay on the sidewalk clutching my head as my brain pounds against my skull.

"Ah shit! Watch where you're going!" A deep warm voice demands.

I manage to open your eyes and see a dark man with beautiful hair in a small ponytail standing 6 feet ahead of me. He's scrambling to collect all of his papers that I, by no doubt, caused to to flutter across the New York sidewalk.

"Oh my gosh, I'm terribly sorry! Here let me help you." I exclaimed as I jump up to run after the floating papers. One floats 5 feet ahead of you and race to grab it. It landed in the street and you were determined to help this man. After all, you did cause him to drop everything. As I quickly raced into the street, I noticed two very bright lights coming closer.

I imagine death so much it feels more like a memory. This is where it gets me, on my feet, several feet ahead of me.

Suddenly I was yanked back into reality and into safety. A pair of strong arms wrapped around my waist and pull me back. We land on the sidewalk hard on our asses.

"Jeez, at this rate you're gonna get yourself killed by the time I leave." The mystery man jokes.

How can he be in a joking matter after I ruined his day?

"Sir, I'm really sorry that I ran into you and caused your papers to go everywhere. I'll look where I'm going next time." I stated sheepishly not making eye contact. He chuckled and I swear I thought I heard angels. His voice is so warm and angelic I felt like I was going to melt right there.

"Oh It's fine, I'm fine. But are you ok? You took quite the fall and almost got yourself ran over"

"Oh, It's not the first time. But thank you for saving my life." For the first time during our 'interactment', I looked up and got a good look at him. He was devilishly handsome with prominent features such as his jawline, perfect stubble, and the most inviting eyes. He had about 6 inches on you causing you to strain your neck as you admired the beauty that was this man.

"Are you sure that you're alright miss?"

"Oh yes. I was just trying to hurry so I wouldn't be late for work. I guess that's not happening."

"Well, I'm sorry for holding you up. I'll let you go now." He said as if HE did something wrong. I handed him the papers that I managed to collect for him and smiled a goodbye. Before I walked 5 steps I heard, "Oh, and miss? Be careful...please." I turned around and nodded. This man will be the death of me.

I walked into the bar hoping that I wasn't too late for my shift. The clock read 5:10 and I was supposed to be here by 5.

"Y/N! Now, why are you late?" My boss exclaimed.

"I uh... took a bit of a tumble outside. I'm sorry, it won't happen again."

"Better not. Now, get to work. You're gonna have a long night ahead of you; It's party week."
