"And sign here." Stiles finished, pushing the paper up slightly.

Mark sighed once he'd finished signing his resignation contract. Before that, he'd been writing a letter Agent Parks, explaining why he'd called off the assassination so suddenly.

"You know, when you're not set on killing anyone- like my boyfriend- you're actually half decent." Stiles laughed as Mark picked up his bags and started making his way to the front door.

"You're not too shabby yourself, Stiles. It's amazing; the lengths you'd go to to protect them." Mark nodded at the werewolves and gave Stiles a small smile.

"They deserve it. I mean, nous protégeons ceux qui ne peuvent pas se protéger eux même." Stiles shrugged.

Mark gave him one last smile before Boyd and Peter escorted him out of the door.

"I'm really sorry for waking you guys up." Stiles said as he turned to face everyone. "It was like two or three when I called you, Scott."

"Yes, because Derek was being held captive by a non-psychopathic psychopath." Scott told Stiles, eyebrows raised in an unimpressed expression.

"Sorry, yeah. I know. I just feel bad for waking you up." Stiles mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Well, it's all over now. Everyone's good, except for a little bit of Isaac. We'll all go home, back to bed, and, in the morning, everything will be back to normal." Malia stated, leading the way out of the house.

"Sorry, man." Stiles whispered, pulling Isaac into a hug.

The werewolf was trembling slightly.

"Why'd you keep coming closer?" Isaac whispered.

"I learnt that confidence scares the other. If I were to stay where I was, he probably wouldn't of hesitated to shoot you."

"Thank you, then." Isaac squeezed slightly before pulling away.

"No, thank you for being so brave." Stiles smiled and gave Isaac one more hug before stepping back.

"Come on, Isaac. I'll take you home." Scott told him quietly, wrapping an arm around his shoulders.

Stiles jumped when Derek wrapped his arms around his waist from behind.

"Well done." He whispered, breath fanning Stiles' neck.

"Why?"

"Tonight, you managed to save pretty much everyone and stayed calm the whole time."

"Ha. You should've seen me back at the loft. I was so jittery, I might as well have been bouncing off the ceiling."

"You were alone then, waiting for me to come back. I know how your nerves are."

"You don't have to keep defending me." Stiles said quietly with a small smile, turning in Derek's arms to face him.

"But I want to." Derek replied, quickly kissing Stiles.

That feeling Stiles loved and hated was back, and he was learning that, despite the odd squirming it causes in his stomach, he should probably just love it.

They smiled at each other for a moment more.

"We should probably go and get some sleep." Stiles stated, pulling away from Derek's arms.
