'It was dark, breathtaking, yet mellow' is something that should have been said about that night, although to Miniko it was more of a normal thing.

The trees silhouetted behind the moon. Laying in the tall grass alongside the hilltop above a city of scattering lights, He felt the cool breeze brush the hair on top of his head. Miniko didn't have a care in the world. He lived with no regrets and cared about himself and only himself.

Miniko was only 17, but very calm and collected. Stood 5'6 with dark brown hair and bleached in the front. He got his GED to get out of school and left his house whenever he wanted. His parents didn't care, they were always more involved in drugs and alcohol than anything. He resented them for that because if they did care and show interest, he'd be way different than who he is today.

"Ouch!"

A voice echoed across the hill, "That was my toe!"

The muffled voices sounded familiar, but Miniko couldn't put a name on them. He listened intently.

"Why did you want to come out here anyway? I can barely see where I'm walking!"

"I'm not worried abou- ouch! That so much. I wanna see the moon!"

Miniko stayed silent and peered over to his right to view two baffling dumbasses, Jackson and Tyler Idleman. Jackson was 6'5 with short bleach blonde hair, always looking at his feet and Tyler, only 5'2, mid length red hair, was always looking up. They walked right up on him and stopped.

"Miniko? What are you doing out here?" Jackson glared at him but more in confusion than in distaste or anything overly negative.

Jackson was just concerned for Miniko, it never occurred to him that it was mainly Miniko's own choice to be alone. That's just how he was.

Miniko replied, "Get lost, I don't have to explain myself to you guys. I just want to watch the stars in peace."

"Why are you always alone? Even when you were in high school, you've always been distant," Tyler said to him.

"You wouldn't understand," Miniko stood up and began walking away.

Miniko definitely  needed some social lessons if he ever wanted to stick around for an actual conversation. Although, the problem was that he never wanted to, at all.

So he left the two fellows to their nightly stroll as he became lost in thought. 'What if things were different?' 'What if I died?'

A pain jolts through the front of his skull, he walked into a sign, it said "Welcome to Pendleton, Oregon."
