Maria and her brother were well known on the ocean as the devils of the seven seas. Gilbert was a better tracker than Maria, but Maria was a better thief and fighter out of the two. She was sent to the port of one of the British Isles to steal a charm that an infamous pirate named Arthur was known to have. She pinned up her hair under her hat so that she wouldn't stand out and catch too much attention. there was a reason her brother and herself were known as devils or spawns of satan. It was because they were albino, which was something they couldn't help, their silver almost white hair and red blue eyes stood out amongst normal people. Some of the crew members on Arthur's ship were loading the ship with cargo and supplies, she was able to sneak on board with ease, but now she had to get to the Captain's chambers, that was the problem. There were several crew members on the deck of the ship, an unusual amount for a pirate of any stature. Why did he have so many crew members? That charm must be very valuable. She thought as a smirk played across her lips. She did her best to sneak by, but just as soon as her fingertips touched the brass knob of the door to the Captain's quarters she had been spotted. She drew her sword from the protection of it's sheath and closed her eyes, hoping that they might think she was just a weird person instead of a 'Devil'. she used her hearing to help fight off some of the crew members, it worked until they all started attacking her at once. One of the crew members managed to slice her right cheek open while another ended up cutting the back of her hat as she dodged the attack to her best ability, however much to her dismay, her silver tinted white hair fell from the opening in her hat, falling down to the middle of her back. She fought back a bit more before she was finally captured, a tsk noise escaping from her lips as she was more or less forced into a cell in the lower half of the ship and cuffed to the wall. Quite a few of the crew kicked and cursed and hit her, leaving dark bruises upon her face and other areas of her body hidden by clothing, it wasn't the first time she had her ass pretty much handed to her, and most certainly more than likely would not tbe the last. After hearing their Captain's boots against the wood of the ship's deck they left Maria in the cell slamming the door as they walked to the deck to salute and greet their Captain, who was none other than Arthur Kirkland himself. His blonde shaggy, messy hair hidden somewhat under his hat, his red coat hung from his shoulders and flowed from his movements as he walked over to his cabin, but before he had the chance to walk in, one of his crew members approached him, he was younger than the rest but only by a few years. He had bright blue eyes, and a cowlick stuck up in his dirty blonde hair. "We caught an intruder sneaking on the ship Cap!" One of the devils." He said in a serious tone. Arthur stared at him in shock at his report. "Alright, thank you Alfred." Arthur stated and walked down below deck to the cell to see if the news was true. And it was. Arthur opened the cell and sat on a nearby barrel, a cigar hanging out of his mouth. "What do we have here?" He asked looking down at Maria, in which she didn't bother to look at him, she was rather stubborn. "You think you can sneak onto my ship without getting caught eh?" He said questioningly. However he narrowed his eyes at her as a chuckle escaped her mouth, despite her current predicament she had a smirk planted on her face. "Oh this is a ship? My bad. I thought it was a row boat. Silly me." She stated rather cockily. Arthur stood with a rather annoyed sigh and roughly shoved her against the wall with the heel of his boot, putting pressure against her shoulder causing her to wince and gasp out in pain. He clutched the cigar in his hand and blew a puff of smoke in her face, her nose scrunched up from the stench. "I won't hesitate to slit your throat." He stated in a calm manner, "Now start behavin'" Maria gritted her teeth, glaring at him from her bangs, preventing her eyes from being seen, however she smirked and merely laughed. "Go ahead..slit my throat. I don't give a damn. She stated. Arthur narrowed his eyes at her and gave her a kick to the gut, knocking the air out of her, leaving her coughing in gasps as he sat back down on the barrel once again to continue his interrogation, much to his dismay he wasn't getting hardly anywhere with her. "Are you going to tell me why you snuck onto my ship?" He asked demandingly and highly impatient as he adjusted the bandages around his hands from a recent burn incident. "I don't have much to spare." He said sarcastically with a smug grin. Maria chuckled, "I can't say I remember." She hummed highly amused, she quite enjoyed teasing with this man, sure she did the same to others when she had been caught, but for some reason she found much more amusement with Arthur. He pressed the burning end of his cigar into her leg to put it out before tossing it to the side as Maria hissed at the burn. "Tell me." He said menacingly. "Nein." She stated stubbornly, "This is nothing compared to what I've been through." She continued. Yes, she had been through much, much worse. "I would like to know, why did you sneak onto my ship?" He asked sternly. Maria turned her head, her eyes closed hiding their color from him. He huffed annoyed then looked down at the pendant hanging form his neck, the green gem on it shining as he twisted it between his fingers before looking back at Maria grabbing her chin and forcefully turning her head towards him as he held up the pendant and got closer to her. "Was it for this?" He asked but she stubbornly kept her eyes closed. He glared at her and smacked her in the face. "Open your eyes dammit!" He growled. Maria sat there for a moment before looking up at him through her bangs, her eyes much more noticeable now. She glared at him with bright blood red eyes, pools of aqua tinted amongst the red. "Tch." Arthur paused before standing back a few paces, setting himself down on the barrel again, this time leaning closer to Maria. He reached up and removed his eye patch revealing a large scar that ran over his right eye, he was blind in that eye, the once bright beautiful emerald green now faded to a dull shade. "Was I right?" He stared at her. Maria had to admit it creeped her out a little, giving her a few chills down her spine. "I'm not going to ask again, why did you sneak onto my ship?" He asked sternly. "Bite me." Maria spat ignoring his question. Arthur got up angrily and drew a knife from his boot and brought it down on her foot causing her to throw her head back and scream out in pain as beads of sweat ran down her face as she did her best to endure the pain. He pulled out the knife once he was sure it had gone all the way through, "That'll slow you down if you try to escape." He stated crouching down a bit more to get to her eye level, brushing her bangs out of her face to see if she had her eyes open, though they weren't much to his dismay. Why would they? She was in pain. Unsatisfied, he pressed the tip of his blade against her neck until it penetrated the skin a little bit, causing only a small amount of blood to ooze from the now open wound under his blade. "I told you I wasn't going to ask again." He growled. Maria glared at him and spat at his face, "Why should I tell you. It isn't any of your damn business." She stated. "Of course it's my business." He said and tilted his head to the side subtly, glancing down at the knife before running the edge of the blade across her throat making the wound even larger, it wasn't enough to kill her, but it would most definately scar over. "If you're on my ship, then it's my business. I'm the Captain afterall." He said and stood up taking a step back, placing the knife back in his boot. "I suggest you keep your mouth shut until I return or the crew might start taking a liking to you." He said putting his eye patch back on. Maria chuckled quietly, "Aw how sweet of you to think people would like me." She smirked. "Keep that attitude up and nobody will." He stated before walking out of the cell and going up to the deck, and retreating to his quarters to take a brief nap.
