Vic's P.O.V:
I was trying to ask Kellin what he meant, but he was already bolting away from me.
You see, I like Kellin (not in that way), he's nice, and seems like a genuinely good person.
So far, everyone I've met at this damn school has said bad things about Kellin.
They've told me he's a freak, they've said he's completely nuts, and that he has no friends, but no one said why.
No one has told me why everyone says these things.
From what I've seen with Kellin, he seems a little strange, but aren't we all?
"Hey, why were you talking to Basket Case?", Alex said, sitting next to me.
"Why doesn't anyone like him?", I asked, furrowing my eyebrows.
"The kids crazy", Alex laughed as if I had said the stupidest thing he's ever heard.
"Why do you say that?".
Alex leaned in as if telling me a secret.
"He sees shit, man. Talks to himself and imaginary people. He's the definition of insane", Alex said, quietly.
"That doesn't make him crazy..", I trailed off.
"You dont know him. You dont wanna", Alex stood up.
"What does that mean?", I asked.
"I hope you dont have to figure it out. Take care man", He said and walked away, leaving me puzzled.

"How was your day?", My Mom asked Mike, my little brother, and I as we walked in."Good", Mike and I mumbled at the same time.
"Tell me about it", She asked, exited.
"Sorry Ma, I got homework", Mike obviously lied and sped upstairs, leaving me with our Mother.
"Vic, how was your day? Did you make any new friends?", She asked.
"Err..good and yeah actually", Kellin popped into my head.
"Oo! Tell me about them!", she grinned.
"Well his name is Kellin, I'm pretty sure he's in my grade", I said.
"That's nice! Invite him over for dinner!", She pushed.
"Mom! I barley met him today, he's gonna think I'm weird", I whined.
"So you like him??", She asked, all gossipy.
"Mom", my face went red.
Yeah, I was into guys. My parents were really supportive though, which helps alot.
"Victor Vincent Fuentes, spill", she said.
"No", I crossed my arms.
"Three...two..", she began counting, knowing I had to spill to someone.
"Okay, he's really cute, but I've heard alot of bad things about him. I talked to him but he seems nice", I blurted out.
"I knew it! And heard what? Mijo, you know you cant always believe what people say", she tsked.
"I know...people are telling me that he's crazy and weird. But I talked to him and he seemed normal", I shrugged.
"Victor, invite him over!".
"No, Mom, He's gonna think I'm weird", I whined.
"I dont think so. Now come on, help me move this couch".

The next day I kept an eye out for Kellin.
I dont think we have any classes together, though.
During 3rd period, I went to use the bathroom and heard a familiar voice in the stall.
"Shadow stop looking at me, it's weird okay".
No reply.
"What do you mean? It is!".
Silence.
"Ugh I hate you".
I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Kellin?", I asked.
A stall door creaked open and Kellin peered out.
"Oh...hi Vic", he said, looking kind of nervous.
"Hi...I was actually looking for you", I said, scratching the back of my neck.
"Oh? About yesterday?", he asked.
"Well, no, but I am still kinda curious and confused", I said, sheepishly.
"Ignore what I said", he laughed, although it didnt sound real.
"Okay...uh, what are you doing later today?", I asked.
"Probably sitting at home talking to Sh- I mean nothing", he shrugged.
"Uh...well if you aren't busy, you could maybe come over for dinner?", I asked, flinching at how dumb I sounded.
"Me?", he asked.
"Well yeah...".
"I've never been to a friends house", he said to himself.
"Are you sure you wanna hang out with me?", he asked, his eyes gaining a certain sadness that I wanted to wipe away.
"Of course I do", I said, softly.
He stepped out of the stall and walked toward me.
"I'd love to", he grinned widely.
It made me really happy knowing I caused that grin.
I wondered what else I could do to see him smile.
Guess I'll just have to find out.
