Epilogue

So many years had passed. The Trolls had been able to escape Trollstice thankfully and now lived in a different far-off forest. Life had moved on for everyone, except Branch.

He had grown into a strong adult, his body muscly from all his workout sessions and from collecting so much supplies for traps and weapons. He needed to be prepared...in case a Bergen were to find them.

Princess Poppy grew into an even more beautiful Troll than he remembered. But she had fallen in love with this annoying mediator named Creek. The now-survivalist male had no chances now. The happiest, sweetest, most positive Troll in Troll Village would not want a cynical grump like him.

Now he was sitting deep within the safety of his survival bunker he had constructed over the years of living here. It was filled with provisions that should last him ten to eleven years...if he was willing to drink his own sweat. And yes, of course he was.

Branch had separated himself from the other Trolls. They all threw parties almost every night, they sung, danced, hugged. It was annoying and disgusting.

Not a day goes by that I don't think about you, Grandma, the gray-skinned male thought as he pulled out a journal from his supplies. He had gotten this to write his personal thoughts in since he had no other Troll to talk to. Bottling up emotions was unhealthy for the brain. And he needed to be mentally and physically healthy for things if he was going to survive. So, he took a pen, and starred to write...

My name is Branch and I'm a Troll. Why do I live in a heavily-fortified survival bunker? Because right outside my door lurks a nightmare...named Poppy...and I am madly in love with her.

Branch set his pen down, rubbing his forehead with his hand. He thought about Poppy a little too much and it could sometimes distract him from his work. Why am I still mooning over her? he thought. It's not gonna work out.

He shut the journal, deciding he'd work on it later...or not.
