Chapter One: A Surprise Outside The Wall

...hai... how's it going? Good? I bet you wanna read the fanfic, don't you. Well, sorry for keeping you waiting. This book may or may not come out before a different one, but, this is NOT my first. It is my second. Btw, the song literally made me cry. Okay! Enjoy!

Levi's POV:
Months have past since we learned the truth. I decided to tell Mikasa about our little sister.

"W-wait what?!" Mikasa yelled at me, and I plugged my ears. "We have another sister?!"

"Yes." I simply state, ignoring her as she rants on and on about how unfair she didn't know, and blah blah blah. But one sentence catches my attention.

"What is her name?" She barely whispers, and my eyes widen, filling with fear as memories flood my head.

"Big brother!!! Help!" I hear her calling my name as she struggles against the titan's hold. I reach out to her, and watch in horror as the titan throws her in it's mouth... alive and all.

"Nozomi!!!" I scream at the top of my lungs, tears streaming down my cheeks.

"Hey! Snap out of it!" Mikasa was shaking my shoulders worriedly. I look down, a shadow covering my eyes.

"Nozomi..." I murmur, and I can sense her eyes widening.

"I-is that her name--"

"Don't say 'is'! She's dead!" I snap at her, standing up and storming out of the room. Tears threaten to pour out of my eyes, but I deny them. I will be strong. I will kill every titan. For you, Nozomi.

*time-skip: supper*

We all sat around the table, eating. People were laughing, Sasha was hogging all of the potatoes (heh heh heh lol) and Eren was sitting next to Mikasa, who was watching me with uncertainty. I shake it off, stuffing bread in my mouth and then cleaning my chin. Suddenly, Commander Eyebrows--er, Commander Erwin throws open the doors to the mess hall, clearing a spot on a table and placing down a map. Great. Another expedition. Just what we need.

He started explaining the plan, how my new squad--since all but Eren were killed last time by the female titan, aka Annie Leonhart-- will contain new members of my choice. I chose:
- Mikasa Ackerman (because she is my sister and very highly skilled)
- Eren Jäegar (the kid stays under my watch at all times)
- Armin Arlert (the boy has skills with tactics. Very valuable)
- Sasha Blaus (1, she has keen senses we could use. 2, she always brings food. 3, she cracks me up)

And with that, the new team was formed, as Eyebrows--ahem Erwin starts going into more detail.

"Okay, so. Levi's team will be in front, facing our target head on--" he gets interrupted by Sasha.

"Wait... target? Again?" We all glare at her to shut up, but she just continues. "You better have a good plan this time. So, what is it, another human-titan freak?"

"Hey!" Eren complains. Sasha snickers.

"I'm joking, sort of. But seriously, what do we have now?"

"There has been scouting recently that shows a titan sitting in one spot, it's stomach appears to be moving, as if something is alive--" My thoughts go straight to Nozomi, and how she was eaten alive. No. I shrug the thoughts away, tuning back into our rambling Commander. "So, we are going to cut open the stomach," Sasha gags, and Hanji appears from thin air, practically drooling. "And we are going to capture and contain the mysterious thing inside of the titan, or, kill it." My brain sends warning flags, as more memories of Nozomi fills my thoughts. Again, I shake them away. Mikasa looks at me with a worried expression, knowing where my head is turning. I smile lightly, but it soon disappears. I don't deserve to smile. My little sister was eaten before my eyes, and I did nothing about it. You couldn't have done anything! My conscience reassures me, and I get back to the meeting.

Soon, everyone is gearing up on horses. I could tell everyone was nervous, unsure about Eyebrows' GOD DAMMIT I mean Commander Erwin's plan, his ideas have become more, how you say... eccentric or outlandish. We all saddle up eventually, and ride out.

Mikasa' POV:
I could tell it was a touchy subject. I'll ask Captain Levi for more information on Nozomi later, I think I deserve to know more about my little sister after all. When Commander Erwin started explaining the situation, I had immediately noticed the change in Levi's posture and expression. It was now filled with pain and grief. But as soon as I noticed, he changed, smiling softly at me. But the smile faded as he paid attention to the bizarre plan our Commander was giving us.

As we rode, I couldn't see Levi's face. He was in front of all of us, as if anxious to get this job done. Eren-senpai leaned in closer to me.

"What's up with Captain Levi? I mean, I know he's a little... distant... but this is a bit extreme." Eren-senpai points out, and I nod.

"Just... let him be. A lot has been going on with him for the past few months, so just give him some space. Yeah... a lot for the both of us..." I whisper the last part, and Eren-senpai stares at me astonished, but I ride ahead, catching up with Levi.

We all stop abruptly, staring at the limp body of the titan. Levi's face was ghostly pale, and it started to rain. Then, a blinding light carved through the titan's stomach, exploding it so only bones are left. In the center, sits a little girl with long, black hair, closed eyes, a dirty dress, and a flower crown. Levi suddenly jumps off his horse, and I follow quickly. When we reach the girl, Levi gasps. His face is conflicted. He honestly looks terrified. (What he looks like in the media)

"Nozomi..." he says, the world silencing as the girl wakes up at the call of her name. Her piercing silver blue eyes stared us down, then twinkle with happiness. Rain pours as we stand, a weird kind of family reunion. Nozomi suddenly smiles.

"Nīsan..." she mutters, before falling back with a thump.
