Alendi

"He ran all the way to that pond and it started storming. And that's when I started to cry because you know how I get when people cry. I just felt like the worst person in the world. We talked a little more and both apologized. And then we hugged in the rain."

"That's like The Notebook worthy." Giselle giggles on the other end. "That must have been scary though. That's the first actual fight you guys have had." She says more seriously.

"I know. I was scared. It's going to be the last one. I am not looking forward to another one." I open the fridge and take out the orange juice. I poured myself a glass.

"It's not like there's anything else to even fight about. Couples only fight about cheating, right? Of course I'd know." I laugh.

"Don't worry, your time will come soon. Don't you have a crush on your co-worker, David or something like that."

"Devin, " She corrects me. "and yes, but what if he has a whole wife?"

"Giselle....I don't even know what to say first." I take a sip of my juice. "How old is he that you'd think he has a wife?"

"Twenty-five." She mumbles but I heard thoroughly.

"Giselle!" My jaw drops.

"What, what, what?" She knows exactly what I'm about to say.

"You're not even eighteen!"

"I will be in three weeks. He doesn't need to know."

"You're gonna get him arrested. What are you going to say when he asks you how old you are?"

"Look, I know you're a few years older than me, but don't be such a mom."

"Um, how can I not be a mom with this situation? That's eight years we're talking about here. And your birthday is in three weeks in a half actually. No, no," I walk to my calendar. "your birthday is in three weeks and five days. That's basically a month."

"I know, I know, but I'm already too deep." She starts to snort.

"What do you mean you're already too deep?" I began to get nervous. I swear this girl is crazy.

"I've been flirting lately and he took me out on a date." She says as fast as she can.

"Oh my God." I rub my temples.

"It's totally fine though. I'm mature for my age and you even say it too. So technically I'm basically twenty five."

"No, technically you're seventeen, not even eighteen."

"Well, he's clearly not worried about my age so there's no point in telling him." She says with ease.

"He's clearly not worried because literally everyone who works at the office is at least twenty-two."

"Speaking of which, my certificate came in. I was recognized as the youngest worker. Did you know-"

"Stop changing the topic. You need to tell him." I interrupt her.

"I'll tell him." She reassures me.

"ASAP."

"Can't I tell him later? YouKnowWhenHe'sAlreadyInLoveWithMeAndWon'tLeave." She slurs her words together.

"You're tragic." We both laugh. "I'll call you back. Kevin's home."

"Bye."

"Bye." I hang up.

"Hey baby." He smoothly says then kisses my cheek.

"Hey Kev, I-"

"I'm going back out." He says just as I started talking. "What were you about to say?" He turns back around.
