Park Jimin stood at the edge of a cliff and contemplated the meaning of life.

Almost a hundred feet below him, a family of three kids and their parents played in the white waves and built sandcastles in the golden sand. A beautiful place to die.

Because that was what Jimin had come to do. A sharp squeal made him look down and he saw that the mother had just stepped into the icy cold water. As the family rolled about laughing on the sand and the mother scolded them while a smile pulled at the corners of her mouth,Jimin almost wanted to join them and feel loved once again.

The smile on Jimin's face transformed into a grimace. He didn't deserve to be loved, or even liked. He didn't deserve to live on any longer. His death would be better for everyone. Everybody would be happy.

"Even Jungkook?" questioned a small voice at the back of his head. He shook away the question. Jungkook might cry for a few days but it then it would be over. He would move on.

For a moment Jimin closed his eyes and memories of warm hugs, cute smiles, snuggling together under a blanket as they watched a movie, sleeping in the same bed because Jimin was scared that the killer from the horror film they had just watched would grab him from under the bed and holding Jungkook and comforting him when the girl he had a crush on turned him down and reassuring him that he would find the girl of his dreams. And he would. Jimin was sure of that.

But suddenly the visions in front of his eyes changed to screaming, crying himself to sleep every night, because Jungkook had gone to spend the night at Taehyung's after a particularly vicious argument and the smell of cooking breakfast in the morning because Jungkook was sorry and wanted to make up.

Jimin opened his eyes and a lone tear trickled down his cheek. He quickly wiped it away. He promised himself he wouldn't cry.

But there were so many things he wanted to say. So many unsaid things. He wanted to feel Jungkook's warm hugs once again and above all he wanted to say he was sorry. Sorry for all the tears Jungkook had shed because such a beautiful person did not deserve to cry.

Jimin almost took a step back but shook his head angrily. Why was he thinking about this now. He came here to die and he would do so. Jimin braced himself for the jump and moved closer to the end of the cliff.

Jungkook drove madly through the streets, honking at cars and pedestrians alike and earning himself several shouts and honks back in return but he didn't care. All he wanted was to get there in time.

He didn't know where Jimin was but he was determined to find him before it was too late. Too late. Those two words haunted him and he wiped them from his mind.

A tear trickled down his face and he swiped it away. He needed to concentrate. Finding Jimin was the most important thing at the moment. Nothing else mattered. Nothing else would ever matter.

As Jungkook drove, time seemed to slow down and he felt memories rushing before his eyes. Jimin was his sun and from the moment Jungkook set eyes on Jimin noting else seemed to make a difference.

A world without Jimin would be a world without a sun. A world cold and dark and one Jungkook never wanted to live in.

He looked frantically out of the window as he passed by the cliff and there he was. Jimin stood at the tip of the jutting piece of rock, his arms stretched, hair blowing in the wind and Jungkook had never seen anything so sad and beautiful at the same time.

*****

Suddenly, there was a crunching of gravel behind Jimin and two long arms wrapped themselves around Jimin's torso. "Don't jump."Jungkook felt tears dripping down his face and wetting Jimin's back and felt more come streaming down his face.

"Don't cry."murmured Jimin softly, turning to Jungkook and embracing him. "Please, don't cry. "Jungkook wiped his tears away hastily."Please come back Jimin. Things could be how they once were. We'll find out where we went wrong and we'll make it right. Please don't jump."

Wrapped in Jungkook's arms,Jimin almost believed that things could be like before. Who was he kidding. But still....maybe they could go back. Maybe they could correct their mistakes and maybe...Jimin grasped Jungkook's hand which felt perfect against his own."Let's go home."

Jungkook smiled squeezed Jimin's hand once, let go ,and and took a step back towards his car parked a few feet off.

And that's when things went all wrong.

The rock under Jimin's feet crumbled and Jimin felt himself suddenly suspended in mid air before he fell. He smiled softly to himself. maybe fate didn't want him to live anyway. There suddenly was a sharp pain in his wrist and he opened his eyes to see that Jungkook had thrown himself over the edge and grasped on the cliff."I'll pull us back up. Don't worry."smiled Jungkook though his face was pale and covered in sweat. As he said this Jungkook's hand slightly slipped and Jimin was now holding on to Jungkook by the tips of his fingers.

"Hey I can see someone! There are people coming to help!" said Jungkook his voice coated in relief and happiness. "Atleast he'll be safe." Thought Jimin as a feeling of peace spread over his body. "I love you Jungkook.""Hey!What are you-"Jungkook got cut off as Jimin detached his hand from Jungkook's and fell towards the churning white waves.

Jimin saw a flurry of movement above him and saw Jungkook falling toward him. Jungkook turned to Jimin and smiled softly and happily as he stretched out his hand and Jimin stretched out his too and they met in mid-air intertwining together.

As the father who had spotted Jungkook hanging from the cliff followed by his three children and very worried wife rushed towards the edge of the cliff, they realised they were too late and all they could do was stand by and watch as the two boys ,hands intertwined , eyes closed and soft blissful smiles on their faces, hit the waves and softly sunk underneath, their hands never breaking contact.
