The sun rose at about four thirty a.m. giving the sky a beautiful hue. Angelica yawned loudly and rubbed her eyes. Gabriel observed her stretching and put the book he was reading aside.
"You done?" Gabriel asked her. She looked at him and nodded, standing up. "I bet you are too." She went to wash her face to make the sleep go away. Wiping her face lightly with a towel, she complained, "This is not good, Gabriel. We still haven't found anything."
He stood up to match her actions. "Yeah. This is bizarre. I'm certain we should have found something or the other in these books. It's as if all the data we needed has been swiped clean out of these." He frowned. She sighed. "Let's go back to Bobby's. It's weird how there's nothing about this on the internet either. You think someone is responsible?"
"Might be." He shrugged. "Let's leave though. It's five, we'll reach by eight." She picked up the keys from the table along with the duffel bag. Gabriel snatched the keys from her.
"What the hell are you doing?" She asked, puzzled by this strange behaviour.
"You haven't slept in over twenty four hours. I'll drive. Or you won't be efficient at all. Human sleep, human work."
She laughed lightly at his remark and put her hands up in surrender. A storm started to pick up on the way back. Angelica put her duffel bag in the back seat and her cell phone on the front deck. Gabriel drove as she slept, a mild smell of earth and dull sound of radio creeping into her senses. About two hours later, her phone buzzed. Gabriel's curiosity got the best of him and he picked it up to see it was a text from Castiel. Angelica was sleeping like a baby. He opened the text.
"This is a test text. Good morning. I hope you can read this, Angelica." Gabriel smiled at his naivety. "I hope you are doing well. Morning texts are a thing people do. I've spoken with Dean. Here is a yellow smile." It was an emoji. "This message is pointless." The text concluded there. Even though he tried his best, he couldn't control his laughter and burst out in a fit. The sudden noise woke Angelica up.
"What the hell?" She said in a sleepy voice, rubbing her eyes.
"I—uh—I didn't mean to wake you up, I—" he stammered.
She looked at his hand. "What are you doing with my phone?" She asked him in a stiff manner.
"I thought it was a call, from, uh—Castiel, but it was a text and I opened it accidentally. I'm sorry." He somehow managed to lie.
"Please don't do that." He had to remove his eyes from the road again.
"Act so weird, I mean." she snatched her phone away. However, after reading the text she couldn't control herself either. She had a heart felt laugh. "Oh god, Cas, that is why I love him." She concluded. She meant that in a friendly manner, but Gabriel thought she was serious. He didn't say anything. He looked outside his window and tried to change the topic, "It's almost seven thirty. We'll be over in about half an hour. You got very less sleep, but a little's better than none at all."
"Yeah." She was still beaming. She clearly hadn't gotten over the text. They reached Bobby's Salvage Yard and she got out taking her bag with her. "You'll park her out?" She asked bending to see Gabriel.
"Yep. You go inside." She nodded and went inside.
To Angelica's surprise, the door was open. She opened the door and walked in slowly.
"Bobby?" She shouted. No reply. She walked into the living room where she saw Bobby sitting on a chair.
"Where the hell have you been?" She smiled at him as she went to the fridge to get a bottle of chilled water. As she chugged a large amount of liquid from the bottle, she heard a familiar voice behind her that sent a chill down her spine.
