"Welcome to Walden- Smith Teen Park! Where s'more the merrier!"

Phinn read the old rustic sign as the overcrowded bus drove into insertname. He had been dreading the arrival here, but it wasn't the smell of stale Cheetos and Coke that had ruined this moment. It was the swarm of kids and counselors alike, that waved them down by the camps entrance. Yes, Phinn was anti-social. He didn't see the the point of surrounding ones self with friends that would probably be gone in a year or two.  He wasn't always this way, even attending school government in 6th grade, which did not exactly help his popularity either. This tolerance for others diminished over middle school, and now during his last summer before high school he was stuck in an adventure camp for teens. He began scratching at the yellow band on his arm, they had given it to him when he got at the bus station, as he began to listen to some other kids conversation...

"I can't wait!"
"Ya, this adventure camp sure does look promising..."
"I wonder how long it going to last!"

The meaningless conversation from the other teens only reminded Phinn of why he was here, at this discipline camp he was forced to attend.

Suddenly a brunette girl peeked from behind her seat to, seemingly, size up Phinn,

"Hey, Quinn right?"
"Its Phinn" he said dryly, trying to avoid needless conversation with a girl who would probably be a problem in the future.

"How'd you end up here? You don't strike me as the kind of kid who would would be a juvenile or felon."

He winced, he hated it when people talked about his age, he looked way younger than he actually was and was not the tallest person.

"One I'm not a kid, especially to you. And also you don't strike me as someone who would know what a felon is..." he said with a smug grin, one of his only redeeming factors was his never ending wit or sarcasm, depends on who he annoyed.

"Fine, teen..." she said with emphasis as she further turned to talk to him, " What did the big boy do?" She continued to say mockingly.

Phinn sighed, how did he get here? Even though he had tried to forget it altogether, the events flooded his mind.   The flash, the knife, the sirens, the memory's continued to play in his mind.

"Hello?"
"Its none of your business..." he quietly trailed off, starting to look at his wrist and the colored band that was tied there.

"Woah!" She said half in surprise and half in fear, "you have a yellow band?"

"Ya, so what. What color is yours?"

"Blue, but... what did you do?"

"It doesn't concern you! And what do these bands mean anyway?" Phinn said suddenly nervous at her tone, he did not want to make friends, let alone enemies.

"Um," she said ignore what had just happened, " there are 5 levels or colors, in order of severity they are; green, blue, red, yellow, and black."

"Oh," he said, understanding,"that makes sense..."

"What do you mean that makes sense!! What did you do!"She said sitting in the empty seat next to me.

"I didn't do anything!" Phinn said angrily, Why is every one blaming me!   He thought, not even his parents had believed him when he had told them the truth, only dismissing the truth and siding with my accuser at the court.

Noticing his disappointed silence she said something,
"Samantha."
"What?" He said confused,
"Samantha is my name, but just call me Sam!" she said holding out her hand for a hand shake.

"Huh," he sighed, I guess there's no avoiding it...
Phinn held Sam's hand in an awkward hand shake.

And it was sealed, Phinn's first real friend was a random stranger on a juvenile bus, it was a great start to a long-lasting friendship, or was it...
