CHAPTER 1
Demetria was standing at her bed side packing. She looked up into the mirror,if someone just saw
her they would have never guessed she was going to the marines.
Demetria had long brown hair that shinned even without light and she had dark brown eyes also a
nice curved chin shinny white teeth and beautiful full lips She was 5'6 feet and is 21 years old.
When Demetria was done packing she had an hour till the bus came but she still had to get dressed.
She put on a pair of black leather pants and grabbed a gray long t-shirt with a dark black leather
jacket. She grabbed her best pair of black high heel. When she was done the bus was about to
arrive she grabbed her army bag and left her apartment knowing she wouldn't be back in a long time.
At the bus stop, she was sitting down texting on her phone when she heard a loud rumbling sound.
She looked up, and down the road, there was huge dark green bus, She stood as it stopped. It had
the letters U.S. marines on the side of it. The doors opened slowly, in the drivers seat sat a old man
that was bald. He wore a old tan wrinkly jacket, she stepped onto the bus, at the front of the bus
she stood, a shuffling sound came from the seats. She saw the men move over to the window seats
making a free seat next to them. There was a seat next to a girl with long black hair and big hazel eyes.
Demi walked to the seat beside the girl and sat down, the bus lunged forward.
Next thing Demi knew they were going down a bumpy dirt road. Demi looked out the window and out
at a big campus, they stopped at a bar gate. The door opened and the bus driver stood up and
helped people with their bags, Demi stepped of the bus.
There was a large building towering over us , a man came out of the large doors. He had a buzz cut
and his hair was gray also he had scars all along his arms. He had dark brown eyes and had a
deep voice when he spoke,
" Welcome maggots my name is Commander Howard" a man beside Demi said
"This place looks like sh*t" Commander Howard spoke again,
"these few years are going to be hell! now if you will follow me and I will show you where you will
be staying" He turned and started to walk back to the building. With out another word everyone
followed. We walked along a dirt path, we stopped at a big tent with the number 15 over it,
"this is where you will be staying." Demi walked into the tent with the girl she had sat by on the bus.
Demi put her bag on the bottom bunk and then started to unpack, the girl started to unpack to.
"Whats your name?" Demi said
"Hanna."
"My name is Demi nice to meet you Hanna."
"You to"
Commander Howard walked in.
"You'll have today to get to know the area but then tomorrow we get to work." then he walked out.
When Demi was done unpacking she walked into the outhouse and changed into a
tank top, some ripped shorts and shoes. She walked out of the tent, the sun was starting to go
down and Demi found a little spot on the hill that over looked the campus, her new life began.
~A few days later~
Demi shot up in her bed at the horns blared she heard the springs in the matteres as Hanna sat up.
Camander Howard came in shouting
"GET UP!, NOW LETS GO, UP,UP,UP, MOVE IT MAGGOTS!!" he threw two gray shirt and two pairs of
green camlafloge pants at Demi and Hanna and he walked out shouting "I DON'T HAVE ALL DAY
GET UP"
Demi and Hanna sprang up getting dressed quickly and pulled her hair up into a tight ponytail and
pulled on her black boots and ran out of the tent she saw a line of people facing the Commander.
Demi quickly got in line, Hanna was right next to her.
"OK MAGGOTS I WANT FIVE LAPS AROUND THIS CAMPUS RIGHT NOW MOVE IT!' some guys let out
grouns
"OK NOW I WANT SIX LAPS SINCE SOME OF YOU DON'T WANT FIVE" this time everyone stayed quiet
not wanting to run even more laps.
Demi's P.O.V.
My lungs burned as I ran the last lap, the Commander said who ever was done could go to the food
quart. All the people who were done started to head towards a building, Hanna came beside me and
followed me in. We sat beside each other eating quickly not saying a word. The food tasted like sh*t
but nobdy complained.
