Falling For You (Literally)

The Stalker

Ximena sat through class. She didn't really pay attention. She had several thoughts racing through her head. She wondered what Dan was going to tell her. Throughout the entire class he hadn't muttered a word however, he was staring at her quite intently. The bell rang. Even before the teacher dismissed them Ximena instantly got up and sped to the door, hoping Dan wouldn't catch up with her. She wanted to avoid all confrontation. She got out the door and went down the hall, compared to everyone else she looked odd. She looked paranoid she kept bumping into people on her way out. She wouldn't stop for a second because she was afraid he would catch up to her. She could sense his eyes peering at her. She thought she had lost him but when she turned the corner to his math class there he was. "Get out of my way," Ximena said. She was feeling annoyed and frantic.
"Ximena listen to me" Dan begged.
"I won't listen to the one who put me through the worst relationship of my life," Ximena said really quietly hoping Dan didn't hear.
"Look, I'm sorry. I've changed. I am a new person. I understand I may have been a little awkward and weird before but give me another chance," Dan told Ximena. Ximena just turned around and walked in the other direction. Then all of a sudden she felt the touch of metal near her neck. It was a knife. She instantly knew he hadn't changed. "One scream and you die," Dan said in a frightening voice that sent shivers down Ximena's spine. "I only want you to take me back, if you do just that I won't kill you."
"Go die in hell," Ximena replied.
Ximena felt a instant pain. She felt the palm of Dan's hand hit her face. He had just slapped her. Ximena stood still. Her check was really red.
"That's gonna leave a bruise," Dan said coldly. Ximena realized no one knew she was outside of class. Ximena then yelled for help despite his threat. Ximena felt the knife prince through her skin not enough to kill her but enough to almost kill her.Ximena was at the point where she was about to faint when she heard foot steps. Then it all went black.
The next morning Ximena had woken up. She opened her eyes and realized she wasn't in her own room. She gazed around the room, she noticed the smell first, then a beep and a monitor and soon realized she was in a hospital room. She then remembered why. Someone walked in causing Ximena to jump. It was JB. "Good morning sunshine," JB said cheerfully coming in with two cups from Starbucks. Ximena noticed the bags under his eyes and how he looked as if he hadn't slept at all.
"What are you doing here?" Ximena asked.
"Well, its a long story let's just say I kicked Dan's ass and then called 911 to come get you. I've been here with you all night. I managed to call your parents too," JB said. "The doctors said it would be ok if I gave you coffee so here," he said as he handed her her coffee."
"Do you know how long I'll be here," questioned Ximena.
"1 week, they need to make sure you don't have like a seizure or something like that and they have to make sure you eat and rest well before letting you out because that is a key part in your recovery," JB told her.
"Thank you," Ximena said.
"You're welcome love," JB said in a British accent.
Ximena began to giggle and then felt a pain. She stopped giggling and went silent.
"Are you okay," JB asked worriedly.
"No I'm fine."
"I can go call a doctor if you want."
"I'll be fine. Go home and get sleep."
"I would rather stay with you but I will respect your wishes."
He walks out rather dramatically and then Ximena's parents walk in. They begin to cry.
"We were so worried," her mom said.
"The doctors told us they didn't know whether you would survive or not," her dad said.
"I'm fine guys," she says as she pulls them into a hug.
"So who's the boy," her dad questions.
"He's a friend," Ximena says while blushing.
"If he's just a friend why are you blushing and why did he stay with you all night?" Her dad asked.
"Charles, let her rest and don't interrogate her," her mother told her father.
"Fine, but we will need to meet this boy," her father says.
"Bye mom. Bye dad." Ximena states.
