2/8/14

It's been a year since the accident.

I don't even know why I'm bothering to write in this anymore, you're never going to see it.

Because you're gone.

This book will become my therapy I guess, I haven't spoken to anyone since I left. I need to get it all out. So here I go.

On your way home from Hamilton, you got into a car crash. It wasn't fatal, you you went to hospital to get checked over and the worst you had was a broken wrist.  But when they gave you a checkup, they found something much worse than a broken bone.

They found a tumor in your lung. They said you had two months left to live. But you didn't tell me until there was only a month left. One pitiful month, the longest but shortest amount of time I could ever worry for.

We spent that month having picnics on the beach and all the cliche romantic things.

Then you left me.

Grief is difficult to deal with at the best of times, but unlike you, my love is undying. The funeral was a blur, loads of tears and sobbing, but I do remember that they asked me to speak.

So I read them a page of this diary. The entry from the 6th November last year, where I describe why I love you.

I didn't manage to finish reading it.

I miss you more than words can describe Jennifer, but I think it's time for me to put my pen down for the last time.

I love you Jenny.

I hope you love me too

Undying love,

Vicky xx
