They won't find us. I know it. She is safe. We are safe. I have Hope...

"Mama Mama!" I heard a faint little voice calling out followed by a slight tug at my arm. The warmth from the touch of a tiny hand snapped my senses back from dreamland.

That was Angel, my 4 year old lovely daughter. I was just about to open my eyes when I felt warm breath on my cheek and a kiss which was followed by a cute little chuckle.

"Boo!" I exclaimed, engulfing  her into a warm bear hug and allowing little to no room for her escape from my trap.

"Mummy! You are awake!" She squealed.

I let out a chuckle and she tightened our little morning hug. The hugs were literally a daily routine thing. She loved it and I loved anything she did.

Slowly, I opened my eyes, the light from the open windows that had filled the room making me squint a little.

Angel broke away from the hug so that I could sit up. Right after, she tossed herself and landed on my lap.

That was a golden opportunity I was not going to let go. I took it to cover her whole face with noisy kisses that sent her straight into 'giggle mode'!

"Look at what I drew mummy," she said when her giggling started to falter. Then she held a white paper sheet right up on my face.

"Well Angel," I began, "I'd love to see what you drew if only the paper was not covering my eyes."

"Oopsy!" She said with a sheepish smile, revealing a full perfectly white set of milk teeth, as she lowered her masterpiece for me to see properly.
"Wow! This looks amazing honey! Does my little princess wish to become an artist?"
Chuckling, she said, "There is another one in my room Mama. I painted it  myself. Aunty Sophie has seen it and she said it's really pretty. Like me!"
I had to laugh at that. "Well then I also want to see what can be as pretty as my Lil Angel."

The paper she had shown me was a pencil sketch of a family which I immediately assumed was ours. A little girl with pigtails had her arms stretched towards both her mother and father. The fact that she had actually attempted to draw real people (sort of) instead of whatever most kids her age drew (a circle with dots and a smiley for the face and straight lines for the body) , was enough to make me see an artist in the making.

"Okay Mama. I'll show you. But first I want pancakes! Please?" Gosh those puppy dog eyes really did affect me tremendously. I bet she used them as a weapon!
"I'll be right there! Anything for you sweetie."
"Yayyy!"

Honestly, her excitement levels at that time in the morning was just surprising. She didn't even need sugar to be high! All that bubbling joy was reflected in her big hazel eyes which literally sparkled. She was a beauty and those eyes said it all too clearly.

"Let mama get her lazy bumbums off the bed first," I said with a chuckle. "Tell Aunty Sophie I'll be downstairs in a few minutes, okay?"
She looked up at me, nodded, gave me one of her innocent dazzling smiles and then left the room skipping ; my gaze following her bouncy, long, dark brown open hair.

Yayy! So that was my first chapter. What do you think? Interesting enough? Wanna know more?
Anybody else getting Baby Moana vibes from Angel? Haha ...except that this one looks HUMAN KINDA CUTE ;)
Oh and...she's kind of a  bad ass (you can count on that!)
