Katherine's POV
I stared at the place where Nick and Rebecca had just disappeared. Then I turned back to Mary.
'You saved them!' I said in disbelief. 'Why?'She had an oddly triumphant look on her face. 'Goodbye Katherine.'
I realised she was attempting to kill me again. I looked at the timer and back at her again.
No. No, I couldn't die! Not now!
I turned and ran for the box where the spiderbot had been kept. The idea came to me in a flash and I knew I only had limited time.
In a hurry, I opened it and got inside. The last thing I saw before the box fully closed was Mary teleporting out of there and then the place exploded.
I knew I was safe in here; the walls of the box were lined with titanium, so the explosion wouldn't damage it at all. Of course I did feel it get really hot and the small was was really cramped so I couldn't move much. It was also dark so I couldn't see anything.
The noise was deafening though. The noise of the building being torn apart around me was ear-splitting.
I didn't know if I would survive this. What I just did was really stupid, but it was a last resort.
The heat was almost too much to take. After 5 minutes, the noise had stopped, but it was still boiling and I was still in a cramped position, causing my legs to go numb. That was when I started drifting in and out of consciousness and then I finally blacked out.
