Chapter 1
We plummeted through the gates. "You're getting slower, Sam," Jam yells readying for impact.
Two large dogs came running towards the city. One pulls back coming to his senses. The other one is so hungry that she forgot that she was entering the city, where the "ghost of dog catchers" roam.
The dogs that were chasing us, otherwise known as the pack, are a pack of strays that live in the woods. Somehow they were not affected by the nuclear bombs. Then again we weren't either.
"Grrr," Jam readies for a fight but the dog knows better. By the numerous scars on the dog's body I could tell she has already encountered Jam before.
"Great let's go back," I say to Jam and Duke, and I headed towards a luxurious apartment complex we call home.
When we return to our penthouse suite we're welcomed by a joyful, short, blonde girl. "How'd it go?" she chimed.
"It went great. I found a screwdriver and a wrench, and grabbed game while i was at it," I replied.
"Well you look like a rabbit, are you sure you didn't catch yourself?" Bean asked studying my scrapes and cuts as I pulled out two plump and juicy rabbits out of my satchel. Her real name is Brianna but we call her Bean because she is a bean.
Bean grabs the game before Jam can sink her teeth into it. Speaking of food we are running out. We have a few choices, but they are all far fetched. One is to kill and eat the pack but that will only last a short while. We could grow a farm if the ground wasn't so polluted. Or we could pack our stuff and hightail it out of here, the Nomad way.
