The Past was not that long ago

It has been two months since Celeste had her first session with Kidd. They talked a lot and got very deep. Celeste was able to find out many traumatic experiences from his past.
As a child, Kidd was beaten by his drunk mother and verbally harassed by his father. He was called a failure, a mistake, a menace. He was told that everything was his fault. He heard these things from his father as his mother smacked him, kicked him, burned him with cigarettes. But even then he showed no signs of psychopathic tendencies.
In high school, sophomore year to be exact, Kidd fell in love. Her name was Ashley Rail. He believed she was the one and was going to ask her to runaway with him. But his best friend, Lilly, warned him that Ashley didn't love him. When Kidd asked Ashley to leave with him, she said no. And that's when Kidd snapped.
When Lilly came to check to see if they were still in Kidd's room, she found him covered in blood, kneeling on the floor, and panting. His brown hair dark with blood as it also splattered around his brown eyes like freckles. He held a pen also covered in blood and Ashley lay dead on the floor. He had used it to stab her in her throat and choked her until she died. Lilly knelt with him and kissed, and thus beginning  their two year killing spree. They were perfect for each other. Together, they went down stairs and killed his parents before they ran away.
They were both crazy, but Kidd soon found that Lilly was evil. She liked to torture their victims, toy with them like sort of cat-and-mouse game. The voices began in his head, telling him to kill Lilly. As she slept Kidd slit her throat and left her. He was 18 then.
He would use his charm or his pitiful story to lure his victims into his trap. But he only killed the ones the voices told him to. With those who were attracted to him he would tease, let them trust him, then kill them. And others he charmed with drugs, alcohol, money, whatever they desired. He had always been charming and deceiving. So much so, that the voices had taken to calling him 'Young Lucifer'. He'd been killing for so long, he couldn't even remember what life was like before he started. No more suffering. In fact he murdered those who caused the suffering. He was content. But it didn't last long.
Five years later and Kidd has been caught. The voices said it was time to take a break. They said that when the time was right they would help him escape. And he agreed almost all of his anger and blood lust had gone. He was getting tired. When he got to the asylum he had fun toying with the doctors and nurses and staff.
After a while though, he grew bored and began irritating people just because he was irritated. He began to irritate the other psychos, as well. Kidd would laugh as the staff struggled to restrain the kicking, balling, infant-minded inmates. When it came to the few other murderers in the asylum, he would challenge them. He would make them try to kill him. It was almost as if he were so bored that he developed a death wish. That's when they wouldn't allow him to group therapy, or have any sort of social interaction. Except for his personal psychologist sessions. Kidd had a lot of fun with them. He made the psychologist psycho. They hated him, and he loved it. None of them lasted more than a month. That is until recently.
Dr. Celestial Woods, 25 years old, 5'6", serious and determined. She grew up in an orphanage from the age of ten. Her father was a police officer was killed by an armed and scared mentally ill man. Her mother was already suffering from depression and when Celestia's father died she attempted suicide. She was then dubbed unfit to care for a child. She O.D.ed a few years later on her antidepressant medication.
With the history of mental illness and death around her it wasn't a surprise when she became a psychologist. She had skipped a grade and graduated a year early from college.
As a child Celeste had always been somewhat detached from her peers. No one truly matched her level of intelligence.  Her father taught her to be a fighter. Her mother, before her father's death, was a scientist. She taught Celeste science and math and reading science essays and scientific history. Celeste was definitely a child genius. She wasn't necessarily robotic, but she was quite odd. Then again not many nine-year-olds could kick your ass while lecturing you on brain matter.
Celeste was 24 when Kidd Gramm was arrested. Celeste was normally pretty numb emotionally even cold. But she pitied the mentally ill. She wanted to help them. But when she saw Kidd Gramm on the television she didn't feel pity. She felt drawn to him. She took on some patients, got some more experience, then applied to be Mr. Gramm's psychologist. There were three reasons Celeste was 100 percent guaranteed the job. Firstly, Celeste was qualified, smart, and knew how to get what she wanted. Secondly, Kidd had gone through thirteen people already, and nobody else was fighting over the job. And lastly, Dr.Pelissier was absolutely captivated by young Celeste. As soon as he laid eyes on her, Celeste had him on a chain. Her delicate features and curvy body and the fact that she was much younger than his ex-wife was very appealing to him.
Dr. Donald Pelissier is 53 years old with longish, stringy, brown hair. He also has a large forehead and an evil villain's mustache. He was married for twenty years, until his wife divorced him for a handsome, thirty-year-old yoga teacher. Pelissier's sanity slowly fell apart after that. He became obsessive and psychotic. His wife got a restraining order against him.  He tried to replace his wife with Celeste. She was young and beautiful, so he thought she was perfect. And when Celeste refused him he lost his marbles.
That was the past, though. All of the death and insanity of the past was not that long ago. Either way it still followed them, waiting in the shadows. Waiting for the moment to release the madness once again.
