Hey! I'm Alice and I know what you're probably thinking. 'Oh here's another cliché teen narration.' Well, you're right. I thought I'd introduce myself so you can know more about what's going on here. I recently graduated university with a First in SFX and Theatrical makeup and my best friend, Matt, is helping me set up my website so I can start becoming a professional makeup artist. I do casual, evening and occasion makeup with some SFX stuff in the mix too.
You see this was the first step to changing my life forever.

"Okay Alice, you website is up and running. The world can see your work and book you." Matt called once he had put the final touches onto my site.

"Oh! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!" I squealed throwing my arms around his neck.

"It's fine, Alice. Really. Plus, you're stupid so you couldn't do it by yourself." He chuckled.

"Gee, thanks." I scoffed. "Asshole." I muttered under my breath.

"What was that?" He probed knowing full well what I said.

"What was what?" I asked, pretending that I didn't say anything.

"What you just said."

"I said Gee thanks."

"After that."

"What was what?"

"Don't start playing games cos we both know I can take you down."

"Bitch! Wanna bet." I shouted.

"Try me." And with that he lunged at me, bring me to the ground.

"Ow! Just because we've been friends since we were kids doesn't mean you can tackle me like that."

"I beg to differ."

"I beg to punch you in the dick if you try that again."

"You do that I'll punch you in the ti-"

My phone started to ring. I jumped up and ran to my phone.

"Hello?" I chimed.

"Hi, is this Alice?"

"Yes, how can I help?"

"Great! I saw your website and I wanted to ask if you'd do the makeup for my wedding?"

"Yes, that'd be fine, would you like me to do a trial? Test some different looks to see which you like best? Do you have a dress already?" I suggested to my possible client.

"Really? That would be great! Oh I do have dress yes!" I heard the excitement in her voice. "Oh could you do the bridesmaids too?"

"I'd love too! What style of dress is it and do you have a colour scheme or preference over colour?"

"Great! It's a corseted mermaid dress and it's pretty simplistic, there's not really a colour scheme. Is that a problem at all?"

"No, that's fine. We can try different shades and styles to decide which style you like. Plus you can change you mind on the day too."

"You're amazing! Can I contact you in a few days with a date or two?"

"Yes! That's fine, can't wait to assist with your special day!"

"Thank you! Bye!"

"Bye bye!" I hung up the phone.

"Was that-"

"I HAVE MY FIRST JOB AS A MAKEUP ARTIST!!!!!!" I screamed.

"Oh my God that's great!"

"Oh my God... I need to prepare!"

"You have plenty of time!"

"Eh, 'scuse me. You don't know when she's going to call back with a date! I need to get everything together now." I sighed, exasperated at Matt's ignorance. "And you're gonna help me."

"What?!"

"Well, you're being an ass. So now you're my monkey."

"Your monkey? The fuck?"

"Yes, monkey. Now come with me and hold my shit." I chirped dragging him behind me.

We entered my room I sat him down with my makeup caddy ready to refill it with the necessities. I gave Matt a list of products that I got from college.

"Okay what's first."

"Primer. What the fuck is primer?"

"Are you stupid? It stops shit from clogging your pores and makes your foundation last longer." I began rummaging around my makeup desk trying to find my primers. "GOT 'EM!"

"Why do you need more than one?"Matt asked with instant regret.

"I can't use a harsh one on sensitive skin. Next?"

"Cleanser, toner and moisturiser."

"Before you ask. They clean the skin, remove oils and rehydrate."

"Thank you."

I found those pretty quickly and handed them to Matt.

We spent about 15 minutes all in all getting the rest of the makeup and products together and putting them in the caddy.

"Thank you!!" I beamed at Matt for helping me.

"Did I have a choice?" he huffed, monotone.

"No." I hissed at him. "Why do you have to be pissy all the time?"

"This boring, I want to leave."

"I'll buy you pizza... " I sighed.

"What you need help with next?"
