It's April 8th, journal.
And I have some news.
It's interesting news too. The type of news that's going to make you say "What the hell?"
Do you want to know what it is? I'll tell you. But only if you realllllyyyy want to know. So how bad do you want it? You seem desperate for more information so I guess I'll inform you.
Well, journal, you'll never guess it but someone called me last night.
Now, don't get ahead of yourself here. It wasn't that mystery man - well, more like mystery teenage boy - from the diner last night.
Nope. It was Tayla. That's right. From English Class. I was surprised to receive her call. It was completely out of the blue. Completely unexpected. Tayla and I had only talked once before.
And it was to complete an English project.
Tayla was the type of girl I couldn't really get a read on. I mean, she wasn't a bitch or anything like that. No, she's more like the heroine of the story. The good girl. And if I'm being honest, there's always been a little part of me that's wanted to have a friendship like the one she has with Jana.
Ya know, THAT type of friendship. The one you call with every little detail about your crush that you saw at school and the rest of the events of your day. The one you do EVERYTHING with. The one you meet the first day of high school who you know will be your maid of honor at your wedding ten years from now when you're only talking to each other over the phone because life happened and now you're living on opposite sides of the world. The one you can go forever without talking to and then when you do talk to them, it's like you two never spent any time apart.
So, yes journal, part of me was slightly excited when she called me. I mean, me, Sky, she called me. I didn't call her.
It felt nice. It felt nice for someone to call on me.
And it was even nicer that she was calling to invite me to hang out with her and Jada.
Just your lonely Sunday night meal type of hang out. It wasn't to be anything big. But, needless to say, I was slightly excited.
I don't know why this one phone call was so important to me.
I mean, it wasn't like I was HOPING Tayla was going to ring me up on a Friday night.
Actually, if I'm being honest, I was slightly hoping another voice would be on the other end of that line last night.
But that's a whole different story, journal.
A different story for a different day.
So yes, I am excited to eat one meal with Tayla and Jana.
Because....well, who knows? Maybe I'll get lucky.
No, not that type of lucky. I mean, maybe I'll get lucky and finally find some friends.
Maybe.
