Kip was released from the hospital so I went and picked him up.

"Thanks for helping me Sarah. I'm glad you found me."

"No worries Kip, I'm so happy you are better now. Are you still going to go on the trip?"

"Fuck yeah, if Michael is going I'm going."

"I guessed you would say that. Michael is getting back on his bike today so we will see how he goes."

We got to the shop and found Spud and Wrench working on their bikes. For the next six days they were going to take it in turns to help each other prepare their bikes. I had just helped Kip into the unit when Michael rode up. I waited for him to get off the bike.

"How did you go?"

"Pretty good actually, but then again that was a 30 minute ride as opposed to a 8 hour one. But once I start using my shoulder again I should be fine."

Michael put his arm around me and we walked inside the shop. Smith came up and asked me a question so I went to help him, leaving Michael to walk over to Kip's.

It was lunchtime before I sorted out everyones orders for parts and I went over to Kip's to see what was for lunch. I walked in the door and realised they hadn't noticed I was there.

"I saw the rebels ride past Sarah's house four times this morning. I even saw one stop and take a photo. I don't know what they are up to and it scares me to think about leaving her alone. I'm going to ask Paul to keep an eye on her."

"You should really tell her what you think is wrong. She can handle it, plus she might even surprise you and be more careful."

"I don't want to worry her if its nothing. I might just paranoid because I am leaving."

My blood boiled as I walked into the kitchen.

"So you are just going to let me blindly walk around with a target on my back and not tell me?"

"Sarah, it's not like that."

"Whats it like then Michael? I'm not some precious little girl who needs protecting. I've proven that to you time and time again. I get that you care about me but I have been along this long and not got into any trouble. I'm going home."

I stormed out of the unit and out to my car and started driving home. As I got out onto the highway I passed a group of bikers who pulled out behind me, they were rebels. For gods sake, I just wanted to be left alone. They came flying up behind me and two got in front of me. My heart stopped and I concentrated on staying on my road. I came up to another off ramp and Michael, Spud, Wrench and Pres all came riding down. The rebels rode off and the four bikes stayed with me until I got home.

"How did you know they were here?"

Michael ran his hand through his hair.

"I saw them ride off after you when you left. I knew the route you would take home and calculated that we would get there around the same time you would."

"I think they may have been trying to scare me but it didn't work. I was just going to drive back to the club house."

Michael gave me a hug.

"I'm sorry I doubted you, I should have told you the truth from the start. If anything is worrying you call Paul and he will help."

"That's ok, I understand why you feel the need to protect me. But I would rather you be upfront about your concerns. Sometimes I will be scared or worried but at least I can act if something happens. I knew after my car got torched that a relationship with you would cause me to look over my shoulder and I'm ok with that."
Michael looked confused and then hurt.
