The moment I enter the house, Archie pounces on me and licks my face. I freshen up and and go to the kitchen to search for some food. I grab an apple and lounge on the couch. I turn on the T.V and some random show starts playing. I pull out my phone and log into instagram.
The first post I see is Brandons. It's a picture of him and his friends on the beach. They're all shirtless...damn. I double tap and continue scrolling through my feed.
Then I come across a picture of Aria- Brandon's on-again-off-again girlfriend. She's not the type of person who you'd want to bump into while walking to your class.
I set my phone down and doze off. I wake up to the sound of keys opening the door. My mom enters the house. "Hi, honey."
"Hey, mom."
"How was your day?"
"The usual."
I go to my room and do some homework.° ° ° ° ° °
"Shauna! Come down for dinner!" Mom calls out.
"Yep. I'm coming!"
I'd completely lost track of time while doing my homework.
We all sit down at the table for dinner. My parents chat about work and some friends. I listen to them for a while and then zone out. My mind keeps travelling back to the time-
"Shauna? What's wrong?" My dad asks.
I shake my head. "Nothing, dad."
"Why are you poking your fork at the empty plate then?"
I look down at my plate and notice there's nothing left. I quickly grab some mashed potatoes and eat them.I rush back to my room and shut the door. I pick up my favourite book and lie in my bed to read. Soon enough, I get engulfed into a different world, where anything and everything comes alive. In this world, there are no limits and no rules. It's just me, my pages and my imagination.
