You promised not to let me fall

"Don't let me fall." I whispered to a blurred face. The only feature i could make out was the warm hazel staring at me with love, warmth and nothing but kindness. It was only then did I realise what state I was in. My usually clean, pale hands were covered in dirt blood, weather it was mine or not was the question, and i had cuts all over my body. A long deep gash was running across my left forearm, that must of been were the blood on my fingers came from.

"I am offended you think I would even loosen my grip." the blurry faced stranger said, bringing me back to the present."I would never let you go darling. I promise."

"That's great, but who are you. I can't see your face. Tell me your name, please."I said back, feeling my newly cut hair brush over my bare shoulders.

It was then I realised was nothing but my sleeveless prom dress. Eyes darting down, took in the ripped material and pale feet covered in muck. Looking deeper I realised the persons hands i was holding were keeping me from falling into a pit of......what seemed like demons. Lots of people all dressed dark black robes were looking up at me, reaching up seemingly trying to grab me. The only thing I could see of them were also the eyes, but unlike the warm hazel eyes of my hero, they were al dark, deep, coal, black.

"I can not tell you that darling. It's a secret I would be punished for telling. "My mystery hero said to me, warm eyes looking into mine.

Then suddenly a load roar came from below me. All of the creepy people from before, were now replaced with......monsters. Stone like figures with horns and wings, it was a terrible sight to see. Four of the....things came flying up to me at once all screeching like banshees.

I felt his fingers gripping my hand tightly trying to pull me out of there but, it was to late. I was slipping from his grasp, and i was slipping fast. The eyes that was my comfort zone for the past few moments had now turned cold and dark.  Then he was falling with me, a dagger ripping through his chest.

A scream ripping from my throat, i closed my eyes and prepared my self for my death, grabbing my hero's hand. I just let myself fall.

Then, I woke up. I woke up, in the middle of a forest, in my ripped prom dress and covered in blood. It was not my blood though, I was not harmed. The only weird thing about this I realised, beside me being alone in the middle of nowhere, was the necklace around my neck. I didn't own any necklaces. It was a small stone like thing with words engraved on the back of it. It was the words that made me start to cry, the words were: " I am sorry I broke my promise. I let you fall." It was then I realised it might not of been a dream or a thought t all.

"You promised not to let me fall." I whispered towards the bright full moon that was peeking through the tree's, hoping my hazel eyed hero would be able to hear me, "But it's okay, I forgive you."
